so sad that this series has ended.
The world was dark and cold, and boring, and full of fleas and other bad things. Then in 2015, at my local comic shop I saw a poster that brought hope to my serrated psyche, Invader Zim was returning to our lives in glorious ink.
I bought each copy, and then bought the hard cover books after that. I’ve read them all several times. The world had gotten better, it became a bit warmer, it became interesting and the fleas enacted a peace treaty and promised not to bite any more, and other good things began to happen.
And then… Dookie! The end of an era!
These comics were so well written, in my head canon they are ‘episodes’ of the show. While reading, I could hear the actor’s voices, they were great.
While the forever loop was a sad ending, how else could Zim possibly go out.
And now, again, Zim is no more. The sun is setting, I’m feeling a bit bored, the fleas have broken their treaty and I’m forced to murder them off of my arms at regular intervals. Except for one named Mr. Zippy, no matter how hard I try, he always gets away…, but I digress.
Zim, Gir, Dib, Gaz, I salute you all. Sleep well my cartoon friends, you deserve it.
I’m thankful that we had you back for as long as we did.

I don't think it would matter if these novels were written be it Johnny The Homicidal Manic, Squeeze, Zim etc. we're written in 2002 or 2022, they hold all of the nostalgia and ground breaking comedy that they have held. I think these are and could be fans of these books and shows alike. Absolutely worth the read!
