Ace builds her own skateboard, then learns to ride it, and then puts her builder skills to work again making a ramp.
I had to turn off the part of my brain that was freaking out about a little girl using power tools without an adult. I think you’re supposed to assume her parents are just off page (or at least that’s what I told myself). You’re supposed to focus on her persevering through spills and falls and trying again till she gets it, and her being creative and crafty.
Great story about a girl named Ace who wants to build her own skateboard. She is a little nervous about riding on it but friends help her learn how to ride like an expert. Highly recommended for early readers - Grades K-2.
A young girl, Ace, builds her own skateboard and learns how to use. With some falls she doesn't give up.
I liked seeing Ace from beginning to end, designing, building, decorating, using, and falling with it. It's also great to have another skateboarding book in our library collection.
Ace is so cool! Skateboarding is not easy. But every time she falls, she gets right back up and tries again! She also build her own ramp, which is insane. This girl is going places!
First I love the Acorn and Branches series. Acorn a great example of hi-lo. A Racing Ace is one of my favorite series under this line. They include great problem solving and I love the STEAM representation. Out of the 1st three Racing Ace books this one is the best.
