Great read with my 4-5 year old son. I love how Dav weaves in legit philosophical concepts mixed in with the ridiculous action and humor.

As a kid, I was a big fan of “Captain Underpants”, but I did what most kids do… I grew up.
Because of this, my tastes matured, and I’m embarrassed to admit I fell out of keeping up with Dav Pilkey.
After being forced to watch the film with my significant other, I decided to return to Pilkey. What I found was a blend of the author’s previous work, Calvin and Hobbes, and Bone.
These volumes are laugh out loud funny, with Pilkey improving through each book. Lil’ Petey is the moral compass, his innocence so infectious, that he received his own spin-off series. Suffused with both moral lessons and throwbacks to classic literature, I admit I might even like it better than the “Captain”.
