Adoption Is An Option: A Guide To Getting Started

Rate this book
Some families evolve through natural conception while others are created through adoption. This book was written in an effort to help guide those who are interested in working with a public social service agency in finding a forever home for a child. It is also a reference tool to gain a better understanding of some of the processes and reasons behind the slew of requested documents needed in order to be assessed and approved before consideration or placement is even made. After reading this book, if you have a better understanding of what to expect, then I have accomplished my goal.

This is a excellent tool for anyone considering the adoption process. Williams clearly defines the information needed to start and successfully complete the adoption process. As a person that has kinship guardianship, I know all these steps/tips to be useful. The commonly asked questions and checklists are time saving.

I have always said that children don’t ask to be here so we should open our hearts if we can. Thanks you Lesli Williams for having the heart to work in this field and for being willing to share your knowledge with others. If you can, foster, adopt or become a permanent guardian to a child/children in the foster care system. Trust me it will enrich your life in ways you will treasure forever.
