The Night Will Hold Us Down

Rate this book
Micah never knew how to balance his immense popularity with his inner desire to just be left alone. Despite his resentment towards his friends, they never seem to stop adoring him - especially his on-and-off girlfriend Danielle and his best friend Tyler.

When the voices start though, everything quickly falls out of Micah's control. After being diagnosed with schizophrenia, he can't seem to grasp what is real - not his irrational fear of pens, not the time lapses in his memory, nor even the enigmatic and elusive Heidi whom suddenly entered his life. Now that world-renowned psychiatrist Dr. McKenzie wants to force Micah into his experimental plans, what can Micah do if no one will believe a word he says?

Lightning-paced and heart-wrenching, The Night Will Hold Us Down uses the lens of a YA psychological thriller to explore the story of a young man coming to terms with his acute psychosis, as well as one doctor's quest to find answers at any cost.
