The environment in which a person lives in can often determine the path they take. This is true for many people growing up in urban ghettos around the world. It's proved itself true for the four very different but similar young ladies in this story as well. Each of them, facing their own demons at home find themselves in life or death situations that lead to life changing decisions. Meet Blaque Daniels the 17-year-old, nonchalant math whiz with a fetish for knives and an abusive daddy who will go to any lengths to break her down. And Frankie "Fe Fe" Donnovan a 19-year-old, pre-op transsexual with a smart mouth, the body and face of a goddess, and hands like a prized fighter. Next there's Rose St. Clair, a 18-year-old black, white, and Irish mixed quiet girl with a natural nac for computers and the mind of a business woman. Finally there's Trouble Walker the oldest of the bunch, a 20-year-old bad ass who fears nothing, is loyal to a fault and is a natural leader. She doesn't care about anything but money, power, and respect. All of these girls live in the same neighborhood but really have no ties to each other besides their struggles. When the volatile situations in all of their lives erupt at one time, the girls find themselves in jail on murder chargers and are given a choice. Do life in prison or channel all of the bad attributes their environment has given them and become paid killers. Come on this turbulent thrill ride through the eyes of each girl and find out which path they choose and whether or not your environment can truly influence your future!

Very entertaining 4.5/5!

Blaque Orchard is the first book I've read by author, Niki Jilvontae. I obtained a free copy and wanted to try something new. After getting acclimated to the author's pen style, I was not only impressed but also intrigued because let's be clear: this book is a page turner!

There are some trigger warnings I should mention: profanity, violence, murder, rape, kidnapping, drug and alcohol abuse etc. If those are triggers for you, I would proceed with some caution.

In Blaque Orchard, we meet four very different young women who are all struggling with their own demons at home and find themselves in very similar situations that demand them to make life changing decisions.

One of the things I absolutely love about this book was the tone and the characters developed who helped to establish it! I would argue that everyone knows a Fefe, Blaque, Trouble, and/or Rose from around the way. They helped to keep the story tight with their colorful antics and hilarious dialogue. Each of them are different, respectfully, and yet their stories and struggles are interwoven. I loved the action and drama too...there was plenty of it. They each have to answer to every choice and pay for every mistake in remarkable ways. And by the stories end, we see the effects of their environment on them individually and ultimately as a group as they navigate living in an urban ghetto. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

My first thought was these mfs go take my killa sistas and make them sign a deal to work for them as assassins 😕 But then they hit lil Blaque over the head and put a bag over her face so now I'm thinking my thug girls bout to get human trafficked, or why else would one of them FBI mfs hit her and put a bag over her? Come on Niki push through on this one! I need more 😍😬 Trouble lost it when her man died. I can understand it. I was wondering what happened to FeFe and now she (out of respect I say she) done got herself caught up as well. It's so much going on in this book I can't go through it all but I know one thang for sho! I need book 2 💁🏿‍♀ Got my eyes open Niki!! Not rushing though cuz when she do come through she coming strong. I swear some of her books need to be turned into movies. Niki ain't playing with y'all...don't sleep on my fave 😎😘😘🙏🏾🙏🏾🤞🏽
