The game was something Viktor was starting to dread more and more. Things didn’t go according to plan, people were swayed by a sweet promise of power and quickly changed allegiances, leaving his back open to attack.
Still, not everything was so bleak.
Taking the reins over one’s future is the only way to survive in such a mad world, and no matter how much he thinks he can trust others, Viktor is proven wrong over and over again.
The gods don’t play fair, not even his patron, and Viktor has to decide on how to move toward the final battle that is looming, As if treacherous aliens aren't enough, new forces invade Sylmar and the other major cities out in the real world. But when given the chance to turn a certain enemy into a possible ally, Viktor will accept almost any bargain to bolster his forces... for he can’t do everything alone. Not anymore.
Book 3 of Towers and Rifts. This was a good conclusion to the series, albeit it feels like the final battle was rushed. Aside from that this book is a shot put ride from the beginning to the end. A lot of possibilities for more books in the series. The theme is dealing with betrayal, especially by those closest to you and continues to explore the idea of what a person would do for power. Due to language and adult themes, I would recommend this to mature readers only.
I actually liked this final book in the series the best. If you’re into litrpg, this isn’t a bad little series. Yeah book one struggles at times, but 2 and 3 pick up and bring the whole thing to a conclusion. It’s no masterpiece of character or plot, but it’s enjoyable. And if you’re an audiobook person, Neil helligers is great.
This was a book series I got on a whim, so I wasn’t sure how it would go - It turns out it went pretty good. I’ve enjoyed the storyline so far and I’m looking forward to the next book.
