This isn't the best issue of Pen in Hand that I've read, but it does have some good stuff in it. Barbara Morrison's short story "Walk to Morning" is a fine read. Eileen McIntire's "The Mountain Main" is a fun if terrifying tale. Dick Ellwood's "Murder on Death Row" is a bit clunky, but it nevertheless offers some fascinating insights into a world few of us ever (thankfully!) know. I'll leave commentary on the poetry to those better versed in it. (Pun intended.) But I did like some of it, while some of it left me a bit befuddled. Overall, it's not a bad little collection, though.
