This book does not include sufficient information to be useable, in my opinion. The back of the book includes the web site for each park. All the information is available for free online, and will go out of date in a couple of years.
There’s no map of locations in the book—ie there’s nothing to group the adventures by region of Texas, there’s no maps (either statewide, regional, or hiking trail maps).
So, you would need to flip through the entire book, looking at the “closest city/town” listing for each park.
Each individual listing includes: — a brief description, —best time to visit, —any passes/permits/fees needed, —closest city/town —How to get there (which highway), —GPS coordinates, and —Did you know? (Approx 1 page)
The accompanying journal page for each location includes the following prompts: —Dates visited, —Weather conditions —Who you were with, —Nature observation, —Special Memories (approx 1 page)
There’s also a small black & white nature photo on each journal page.
