When other insects tell Little Pea that, good artist that he is, he should start a drawing school, that's exactly what he does. And all the insects in this part of the forest line up to sign up and school begins. Fast forward to the end of the school year when everyone shows what they have learned about art by displaying their works even though within the story no instruction takes place. Even Tarantula, whose initial drawings are all dots, has created his own dotted masterpiece. A simple story ending with a bit of hit-you-over-the-head lesson; this reviewer prefers a more inferential approach allowing kids to draw their own conclusion. The art (by Italian illustrator, Sébastien Mourrain, is done in soft pastels complementing the gentle simplicity of the story.
