British politicians provided The Times†cartoonist Peter Brookes with a wealth of material during 2020 and 2021. In these 100 images he largely draws attention to the UK governmentâ€s handling of the pandemic but also casts his acerbic eye on economic policies, scandals and global events including Chinaâ€s new security laws and Trumpâ€s ‘orderly and seamless transition of powerâ€.
Another wonderful collection from the cartoonist of The Times. This is quite possibly the most interesting of times, Brexit and Covid making their appearance, and being skewered by Brookes. Regardless of what you think of his politics, and to be fair he's fairly centralist, the one thing you can not argue with is his art. These could easily be hung in a gallery. His ability to caricature is matched only by his wit. I would get the feeling even his victims would appreciate it.
All you need do really to understand the wacky world in which we live is to browse and enjoy these cartoons (and subsequent collections) by one of the great contemporary cartoonists.
