Jennifer just wants to be normal, but visions of past centuries have returned. This time, Jennifer sees Lady Gwenivere Tudor, the illegitimate daughter of King Henry VIII of England. The year is 1522. Each vision draws Jennifer more deeply into the life of Lady Gwenivere and the political maneuverings of King Henry and his rival, a powerful earl of Scotland. Kidnapped by a masked renegade, Gwenivere finds she is a pawn in a dangerous game and must rely on her inner strength and intellect to survive.

Emboldened by Gwenivere’s courage, Jennifer, with noted archaeologist Derek Rannoch by her side, begins her own journey to find the truth of who or what she is. But this time, it is not Cela from the Bronze Age or Lady Gwenivere from the Middle Ages whose life is in danger—it is Jennifer’s.

Daughter of the Sky is a fast-paced adventure that takes the reader on a captivating trip back and forth between Medieval and contemporary times—a story steeped in history, imagination, mystery, and a bond unbroken since the beginning of time.

Alison is a versatile author who artfully blends genres to create fast-paced, memorable stories, always keeping a woman’s quest for empowerment at the heart of her novels. There is a reason why she focuses on strong women who overcome adversity.

Alison admits to running away from kindergarten three times. In high school, the career counselor told her that her grades were too poor to consider attending college. She wanted to pursue martial arts as a teenager but was told she shouldn’t engage in karate because she would get hurt fighting men. She was cautioned about riding horses because of the incidence of severe injury. And finally, she wanted to match her skills in marksmanship with the boys but was told girls couldn’t shoot.

Alison earned a Ph.D. in physiology and biophysics and taught nursing, medical, and physiology students for 30 years before retiring. She earned a Black Belt in karate. She rides her horses every day. And girls can’t shoot?

She often weaves her areas of interest and her passion for history into her novels. She has placed her characters in Britain’s Bronze Age, Medieval Scotland and England, Genghis Kahn’s Mongolian Empire, Ancient Greece, and the U.S. Civil War. However, not wanting to always live in the past, she is also the author of two contemporary spy thriller novels that have garnered an international following.

Alison lives with her husband, two dogs, and three horses in the Midwest on a farm that has been in her family for 175 years.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Not going to lie when I was told about this it sounded exciting and the blurb sounds intriguing. However, upon reading the book I don’t think it’s accurate.
I wished it didn’t flip flop back and forth so frequently because it was hard to get into the characters or understand what was going on.
It sounded very Outlander which is what had intrigued me, but I don’t know if that is accurate.
This is a book that I normally wouldn’t read, but it was unfortunately not the book for me.
If you love historical romances then this is the book for you.

The second book in the Touch the Sky historical time travel series. Jennifer has made quite a few changes in her life. All for the better and she has not had a blackout or time travel incident for a few months. New friends and relationship, Jennifer has been brought to meet his family and while touring the estate it happens. She knows this room, the women she sees in the room and the history of her. Unsure as to how she could know that, Derek quickly covers for her with his family and Jennifer is now back to wondering what Lady Gwenivere's life has to do with her. Why is she now living her life through blackouts and what is the connection one again? Having had some practice from when she lived through Cela, Jennifer has learned to know the signs before one happens and Derek has gotten better in trusting Jennifer's visions in order to better his archaeological career. The two of them have become close and now this women in directly tied to Derek's family and she knows she must figure out what this all means. I loved this second book and the history of Lady Gwenivere. You could probably read this as a standalone but you would be missing a lot of ground work from the first novel. I flew through this one just like the first one. The story line just flows. Thank you to the author for the free novel. This review is of my own opinion and accord.

“Daughter of the Sky” introduces Jennifer, living in the Highlands with her boyfriend, Derek and his family. Jennifer experiences blacking out episodes where she spirals into another time and body, waking up a short time later with new memories and a little nausea.

Overall, I really enjoyed the historical fiction aspects of this novel. The references to times, places, and people of the past felt natural and realistic. I felt the main character of Jennifer was less developed than the subsequent character of Gwenivere, Jennifer’s identity seemed to center around her relationships with men (past and present) and fretting over the unknown, while Gwenivere was a strong and educated woman in a time not ideal to being either one of those things. I loved the detail of the six dogs, but didn’t understand why Jennifer continually ignored their warnings. Find the rest of the full blog post at heatherlbarksdale.com

After meeting Jennifer in book one, I was eager to read more of her story. This time, her visions come from the 16th century, but it's no less intriguing. Derek is by her side, and there's danger around the corner. It was so easy to fall back into Jennifer's world, and I loved exploring the medieval world through Lady Gwenivere’s eyes. Blasdell did an excellent job of bringing the past to life, and the whole book is like watching a movie unfold around you. Highly recommend reading book one first if you haven't, and I'm excitedly looking forward to book three!

I do like this series. Book One is always the best as you are discovering a new world. And for me, this series has all the elements I love. History, romance and magic. But Book 2 was so awesome too, giving just enough new info and explanation for what's happening as to keep you hanging on. I'm looking forward to Book 3. I honestly couldn't put the 1st book down or this one! I'm looking forward to the 3rd!

Fascinating

This is one of the more fascinating stories that I've read in a long while. The story line takes you to other times and places and then returns you to the present seamlessly. I am glad I purchased both books at the same time so that I didn't have to worry about publishing dates. I loved this series!

Outstanding

I wasn't done reading about Jennifer, Derek and Thornhill. The six dogs were awesome. I think you should extend this series. The past lives experiences were riveting.
