I love this book! It’s full of high quality photos and clearly shows characteristics to look for in identifying our beautiful neighborhood birds. I have already used it to identify a couple little visitors that have breakfast at my feeder. And….this book is just so cheerful.

My mom got this book and she loves it! She let me read it and I agree. It has full page pictures of the birds, with descriptions of how to identify them. Definitely recommend!

Well, I did write this book, but I love it. I am so proud of it. I will of course give it 5/5 stars! If you want an entry level bird guide, this is the book for you. The large images and easy to read field marks make this book super accessible. It is perfect for everyone from grade schoolers to advanced birders looking for a few fun pointers on common birds they might have overlooked. There is something in it for everyone (unless you want a wall of text in your field guide).

I followed @portlandbirder on Instagram and liked his bird identification posts. So when he announced this book was coming out, I knew I had to get it. I love that it's specific to the Pacific Northwest neighborhood birds. Excellent photos and descriptions!

Great book! Fantastic pictures, and useful pointers on identifying birds. It's already helped me out with a couple of sparrows I was trying to ID. Also, great sense of humour! Recommended!

This is an excellent book for any beginner birder. It is so helpful as photos are crisp and detailed. The best part is the author’s helpful and easily identifiable specifics about each bird making it so much easier to identify a backyard bird. This handy book is a treasure!!

So useful and simple. Clear photographs and narrow focus make it very helpful for a backyard birder like me.

A signed copy of this book was a gift from a friend who enjoys the birds like I do. I love listening to “Bird Note” and enjoyed this little book so much. Birds bring me peace and comfort no matter what circumstances I face.
