Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is a complete duet, no cliffhangers.
Note: Sex trafficking, violence.
Holy shit, this series. The emotional rollercoaster I went through with the characters, the crazy plot twists, and the heartbreaking romance - you must know that it took me some time to recover from them.
The timeline ranges from the MCs being 18-19, to 21-22.
The first book, it's about exploring the possibilities of a new romance between best friends, going through tough times in life, and just depending on other people when it's hard to do so on your own.
The second novel gets a bit more action into it. There's some scheme going on regarding the FMC and the guy she's dealing with her in her second/third year of university (her supposed boyfriend), and her ex tries to help her out. Can't say who it is or how they broke up - its part of the second half of the first novel, and the remaining second novel.
But both novels were immensely heavy on the feels, and my brain spun with each plot twist revealed in the novel itself. The characters were meant to be and I couldn't stop rooting for them (kinda wished I had a relationship like that), and the action in itself kept me hooked the entire time. I sincerely hope I get to read more by this author, because I loved her writing, the emotional depth, the steamy scenes, and the action in the novel itself.
It was a fabulous read, and I hope to get to read more by this author.

Fantastic duet by Kate Benson! Anyone who knows me knows that I am a long-time fan of Kate Benson! I have read every single book she has published!!!!
Ignite and Smolder is the epic story of Addie and Zeke. Ignite takes us through their childhood and follows them through college. Addie was different from girls her age, so she endured her fair share of bullying. Unlike Addie, Zeke was well-liked, but he always protected her. They were the best of friends, always having each other’s backs. As they grow older and Zeke returns from college for the summer, each realizes their feelings have changed for one another. After fighting their attraction to each other, they give into their passions and embark on a new relationship as a couple. As with all good love stories, there will be many obstacles to their HEA, maybe even some danger. Anyone who has read any of Benson’s books knows she is the queen of cliffhangers, but fortunately with a complete duet, you don’t have to wait! You can dive right in, and that is exactly what I did.
I was unsure of the ending these two would get. But, I shouldn’t have worried…I mean we are talking about the amazing Kate Benson here. Smolder continues the sweet and “smoldering” relationship between them and their push to get her out of a dangerous situation.
Smolder had all the spice, sweetness, and heat that I wanted, yet there were some twists and secrets that I didn’t see coming…some good and some not so good. Readers will finally get some answers to long-held secrets. In addition, I came to realize that these two are destined to be together. Their relationship makes you believe in destiny, soul mates, and romance that is written in the stars, even though they have to go through so much pain and sacrifice to attain it. Each character matured more throughout the book, and I really loved seeing Addie grow into a woman who stood up to the “bullies” in her life. You rock, Addie! The epilogue was just the perfect icing on the cake….it was perfect for Addie and Zeke!
What makes Benson such a great writer is her versatility in her writing. She has written some really emotional series, as well as standalones. She has also proven herself in the romantic comedy genre too! I know every single time I pick up or download one of her books, I’m in for a treat!!!! So, as usual, I will be anxiously awaiting the next journey she will be taking me on!

A beautifully written friends to lovers romance that gives you all the feels. Addie and Zeke's story is sweet, with twists and turns, and moments that will leave you breathless. I loved it from beginning to end.

One word. Amazing!
What starts out as a sweet friends to lovers story about Addie and Zeke suddenly takes an almighty turn that I didn’t see coming.
Addie is sassy and brutally honest and her heart belongs to Zeke even when she is too young to realise it yet.
Zeke is sporty and Addies neighbour and they are inseparable since the day he moved in. He adores Addie and as they grow up he fights with his feelings.
This book had twists and turns I didn’t see coming and kept me fully engaged!
This ends on a cliffhanger, which I love and diving into Smoulder now.
Smoulder starts as Ignite finishes.
There are so many twists and turns in this book you don’t see coming.
Addie and Zeke you connect with straight away, they have so much chemistry and a love that cannot be broken no matter how hard someone tries to break them.
This was an emotional read which not only took us on their friends to lovers journey but also took us to other life events where Addie is forced into situations she should never be placed in.
Amazing read that has a SNAP moment you totally high five

This is Zeke and Addie’s story. These two have been best friends and inseparable since childhood and have overcome may obstacles in their path together. When Zeke returns home after being away at college for a year, for the first time they take note of each other with new eyes, and temptation is hard to resist, which impacts on their relationship. When fate destines them to cross paths 2-years later, will they be able to repair the damage to their relationship? This is a well written flawless story which is an emotional roller coaster and is a heartwarming and poignant love story. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Fantastic story and characters. Kate has an amazing ability to suck you into the story and make you feel all the emotions of the characters and story.
You won’t be disappointed with this story. Can Addie and Zeke find true love or will events happen to prevent, true love blossoming? You’ll need to read this amazing story. Kate never fails to deliver heart touching reading.
