XcitingStory
Another fast paced story. This author has a wonderful way of wrapping dialogue within action within setting. In the midst of action he manages to describe the look, the sounds, the smells, the very feel of a place and then adds the dialogue that moves with the action. I gave this four stars only because, near the end, he strains credulity with the action (nobody responds to gunfire? The Law doesn’t immediately respond to people running in the street? The ex-army guy is so dull-witted and slow that he can’t figure some different options?) Humm. But all in all this is a fun read.

Vicki is fleeing New Mexico with $20,000. Her husband was murdered and there is a warrant out her her arrest, even though she is innocent and the money is hers. Headed east on a train, she ends up across the aisle from a man who turns out to be a bounty hunter. He is on the trail of a desperado, but sees, she has a lot of money on her. Vicki alludes him and makes it to Junction City Kansas, where she meets the Wells Fargo clerk and they have a mutual attraction. You just know that the bounty hunter and his prey make their way to Junction City, eventually.
