A vacation in DC, a drag show where opposites attract and a serial killer is targeting drag kings. What could go wrong?
Sydney Russo and her love Elise are looking forward to a well needed vacation with their new friends Mandy and Jodee. They've bled together and now it's time to have some fun in the nation's capital. A night out on the town and some raucous fun at a Drag King show is exactly what the ladies need. Unfortunately, their fun is is cut short when someone starts targeting Drag Kings. The latest victim survived and is still a target. What's a cop to do? Go undercover of course. While the initial attacks may have been random they are all now in the killer's sights.
ML Davila loves to listen to music while crafting these stories and usually sings along as they write. A proud LGBTQ author, ML loves to explore love with all its aches, losses, heartbreak and renewal. Add in some gunplay, serial killers and law enforcement and you have just the right mix.
Living up north has exposed them to quite an assorted mix of folks and they love to listen at cafes and take note of conversations. The things people talk about. Whew!
Kindle Unlimited, Book 2. Boy do these ladies get themselves into scrapes!!
More crime action, this time within the Drag King community as performers are being targeted in not so random ways. One of the FBI's analysts Francesca Grace, finds herself woo'ed by a Drag King, named Jordan, who becomes a target of the violent perpetrator. Much insta-love and heat ensues between the couple, during the investigation.
It's fast paced, and the relationship between the two women goes into over-drive, but I couldn't really hate it, yknow? The same with the overall tone of these books, being fast - almost cheesy procedural drama like that on the TV. Just know the tone and sit back and enjoy! But at least it has established lesbian couples, doing their thing. Kicking ass, taking names, protecting each other, loving their ladies... What can I say, I'm a sucker for it!
If you're into criminal minds or any other similar dramas where they are constantly on the go, and under physical harm, but always get their perp, you'll love this... I do have to post a slight trigger warning about the identity of the perpetrator, just for sensitivity reasons:
The gangs back together again —which, considering how likely trouble loves to find them, is like having Jessica Fletcher as a house guest!! (You know, cause on "Murder She Wrote" every place that lady visited somebody always ended up dead, killed by someone in the inner circle!)
Anyways, this book is just as awesome as the first, but this one has more relationship aspects, including a coupla sex scenes or two. Can't wait for book 3
Really wanted to like these books, but they are a take off of the Criminal Minds TV show, even down to the types of characters, apart from the lesbian angle. I have read book 1 & 2 now and when it comes to the show down these agents are as much good as a chocolate fire guard & have more holes in them than a sieve! Meanwhile back at the ranch the unsub keeps on going! Frustrating!
The characters are very interesting and likable. The interaction between the characters is well written. Really am enjoying this series. Thanks for another winner.
