Lustcraftian Horrors: Erotic Stories Inspired by HP Lovecraft

Rate this book
Lovecraft never intended for his mythos to be overtly sexual, but the Great Old Ones are horny for human flesh and all those hybrids don’t just create themselves. Within Lustcraftian Horrors lies thirteen glimpses into the sexual adventures, dominance, and violations the Elder Gods and their kin visit upon the unsuspecting human world. Consider your triggers warned and prepare to enter the void.

About the author

Hydra M. Star

50 books272 followers
Hydra M. Star began her/zir existence as one half of a set of twin fetuses. She/Ze ate her/zir twin in utero. Almost from her/zir birth—as an only child—she/ze had an intense interest in all things mysterious and magical. As she/ze aged, her/zir taste matured and darkened from the Disney-esque styled fairy stories of childhood to the Erotic Horror and Dark Fantasy she/ze writes and publishes today. Her/Zir work is often inspired by legend and folklore, with violent werewolf sex being one of her/zir favorite things. Consider your triggers warned.

In addition to writing, Hydra was also the publisher of Infernal Ink Magazine and the owner of Infernal Ink Books, both of which she/ze used as platforms to bring the most twisted and sexually depraved horror and dark fiction she/ze could find to the world.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but...

I don't know why I do this to myself.
Every once in a while, I decide to read erotica, extreme horror, slasher fiction, or some psychological drama, knowing full well that I dislike those genres.
That said, I am trying to be objective in reviewing this book.
I did not really like the majority of the stories. They struck me as more campy than horrifying, though that might be a feature of erotic horror. I just really couldn't get into them at all, and by the end of the book I found myself resenting the influence Poppy Z. Brite, and Caitlin Kiernan had on the horror genre overall.
There are a couple good stories in the collection. "In the Labrynth" and "Ayquendisa" were excellent.
Hopefully this anthology got out the desire to read one of my disliked subgenres out of my system for at least a year.
Ugh.
