El Final De Las Villae En Hispania Siglos IV-VII D.C. (Bibliotheque De L'antiquite Tardive)

Rate this book
This work sets out to analyse the changes experienced by the elite and rural populations in the Iberian Peninsula by studying how the residential sectors of Hispanic villae changed between the end of the III century and the beginning of the VIII century. It is based on archaeological documentation and on the actual study of the remains of these rural buildings (124 in all) in the Iberian Peninsula, which have a pars urbana that was occupied until quite late (IV-VIII centuries), as well as on textual documentation and epigraphs, which play an important role in explaining the end of the villae and illustrate some aspects of the new organisation that replaced them under the Visigoths. Spanish text.
