When I first started reading this book I wasn't sure I could make it thru it because it starts with old English conversations. However as you go along it gets better and better. I was engrossed and am now on the second book. Very involved with the spirit realm and Heaven and spiritual warfare. I thoroughly enjoyed it (of course, since I am on the second book! : ))

I read it all tonight!
This is an amazing book about the Great Awakening that has been prophesied and it triggered deep emotions in me. Uplifting and even humorous at times, I was moved to tears of both sadness and joy.

I Am In Total Awe!
I don't think that I can explain how this book has affected me.
Throughout the reading of this book, my emotions were overwhelmed. It was like I was there.
If I could have given more than 5 stars, I would have.

This book is hard to label. Christian fiction? Yeah.
There is fantasy within, but it’s not what I would call a fantasy book. The fantasy has to do with visions of large, angelic beings, as well as demons possessing people. Think Revelation or Daniel. Not that these things aren’t real, it’s just that they aren’t generally seen by mere mortals. They reside in a spiritual realm. In this book, they are seen by quite a few people.
The main character is a 16-year-old who has dealt with the death of his father, and now the death of his best friend. In his anger over how God could allow this he was brought in a vision to places where he sees Christ near his death. It was all very powerful.
More visions occur daily. These result is a miraculous revival including healings and many townsfolk coming to Christ.
I have to say the book had me hooked. As it leaned more and more toward Pentecostalism the further in the book I read, my interest waned. I understand how people enjoy writing from their own experiences, and to them it is good and accurate. My mother was charismatic and in her thinking she had power and I did not. I’m in no way offended by this thought or this sort of writing, it’s just a possibility that it could alienate some readers.
What offended me was the amount of swearing. Not simple swear-replacement words like dang or darn or shoot. No these were flat out swear words used as expletives more than a few times. If you are writing about a sixteen-year old, and possibly considering that as a target audience, and this is a Christian fiction book….why would this Christian author include foul language? And the audio version is read by the author himself. Reading foul language out loud. Sigh.
For this reason I can’t say that I will read the next books in this series I already purchased..

I am finally getting around to reading this series, I've waited because I had a pile of other books to read first. I also like to get all books in a series before I start to read if at all possible, as I hate the hurry up and wait for the next edition. I really enjoyed this book, it seemed slow to start at first, but once I got past that I was absolutely delighted with what I was reading. I am 75 now and enjoy reading Christian Fiction so very much, as it seems most books published now include things I do not care to read, sex, bad language, violence, and all in the name of trying to sell tons of books. I enjoy reading things that glorify our LORD and Savior, his Father, and the HOLY SPIRIT. That's what is important, soul food, honoring our LORD and what he has done for us. The characters in this book are so full of grace, wanting to bring souls to GOD and doing so in a very meaningful way. I am now into book two of the series, and the same people are right there so the story continues with some additional family members that are in the first book, time within and without marches on. If you enjoy Christian Fiction, this series is just what the Dr. ordered, read it and love GOD even more.

'Within and Without Time (Within & Without Time Book 1)' is full of vivid descriptions, fantastically crafted narrative, intriguing and engaging dialogue, but its biggest star is the characterization. D.I. Hennessey brings each and every character to life, not just with vivid details, but with emotions and passions. From passages taken from the Bible and other admired quotes from great writers, he brings to life a very inspiring story. He weaves an entertaining and endearing tale about a young man's life in a small town, and how God works through him in a very trying time in the World (could it come true?). If you love novels filled with great emotion, family relations, and a beta hero, you will simply want to devour this book. And although it is about every day people, it is the realization of how God can due miracles through us, that stands out amazingly in this story. The author has written this book with a measure of the volatility, systematic risk, and with a picture of God's security set in times own hand. Thank you for sharing, it is truly an engrossing story, and your adage is enlightening.

Starts oddly but don't stop
When any of us try to put into words, the images and feelings experienced during our salvation, it's nearly impossible. There are things in the heavenlies, the supernatural, the unseen world that we are not fully aware of as we walk right through them. Them, this book, this author, these characters, these scenes explained in great detail, give us glimpses into a place and a feeling of familiarity. The characters come to life. Blossoming into people that we hold as dear as family. The revelation of all the past experiences are perfectly placed to open our eyes to the long suffering of God's hand of protection and the determination of his pursuit of the hearts and souls of his beloved children.
I laughed. I cried. I mourned. I celebrated. I lived the experience of the words in this book.
You will want to read it for the revival it will bring to your heart, mind, body and soul. Can't wait for the next one.

Just, "Wow!!
I've been a Christian for years and years and a voracious reader for the same. I find most "christian" fiction to be pretty lame, shying away from real issues while spouting endless platitudes.
Within and Without Time is not your typical Christian fiction.
I could not get enough of this book. D.I. Hennessey is to be commended for daring to be real while never failing to glorify the only one worthy of glory, Jesus Christ. This book can be frighteningly pertinent, hard hitting and gritty. In fact, if I was not confident in My Saviors love for me, I would find this book downright terrorising! Instead, I feel renewed and edified.
I'm pretty hard to impress, but I cannot recommend this book enough. Read it. You'll be glad you did! Now I'm going to go get part 2.

The book had an interesting story, as a Christian allegory I was put off a little in thinking that non-Christians might not be encouraged to explore a relationship with God as a result, seeing it more as a fantasy novel. I think any Christian writing should have as a primary purpose to encourage non believers toward faith and as a secondary reason to encourage, equip or reinforce Christian beliefs to believers.
If I can set this aside, it was an interesting story. A little slow moving at the start but it picked up.
I listened to the audiobook and the sound effects and strange voices took a little time to get used to.

a real tear jerker…I cried throughout the whole book.
You know, I just finished a series by Amy Lee Grey andI really thought it was the “ I long on the cake “… but, wow! This is only the first book in this series and It has taken my breath away. There is a group of women at our church and we call ourselves “Prayer Warriors”, well ladies I have to tell you that the descriptions of these PRAYERS said in this book…puts us to shame!! I recommend this series to anyone who likes
Christian fiction. They are a must read!!

This is a soul-stirring writing that will leave you on your knees interceding for everyone you love. It is one of the most powerful novels I’ve read in a long time. My kindle was reading it to me as I was working at my sewing table, and I kept pausing it to intercede myself for family, neighbors, friends.
As the main character declared, “Prayer moves the hand of God.”
The dramatic unveiling of the spiritual world within and without us is beautifully crafted, and the integration of Scripture throughout will kindle a fire inside you. Read it!

Very moving and inspiring book!
This was the first book I’ve read by Mr. Hennessey and I can definitely say I will read others by him. Very few authors have moved me to tears, but this book has done that in several scenes. Mr. Hennessey appears to have a deep understanding of our Father God, His Son Jesus, and His precious Holy Spirit that is a joy to read. Thanks for the uplifting book!

Truly Intense and Inspiring
This story is absolutely amazing and the first Christian novel I have read.
It was an emotional roller-coaster of a story that had me in awe, weeping with sorrow and with joy. The power of God and His use of us as disciples for His work shown in this story was just so amazing. I have no words to describe it.
All I can say is Jesus is King! And through Him ALL things are possible.

Enjoyed It
A kind of old-time almost Christian story about a young man- an ordinary person- chosen by God to make a difference. Talk about God bringing a revival! Without a doubt many saved, and a town changed. I especially liked how, despite sadness, God showed some things are about the Glory and the results. It’s worth a read.

A wonderful blessing
Let you imagination grow big and visualize how your life can be changed by allowing your heart to be Touched by the Greatness of our God and in accepting the life changing Salvation and Redemption of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ. We are so precious to our Heavenly Father. I would have given this book a Hundred stars. Well worth reading and studying.

This is my first book by this author and it has left me wanting more. Reading last 30 pages, or so, I wasn’t able to put it down.
Some would view this as fiction but I would say this story is close to the real deal in an interaction with the spirit realm. The author captured the interaction well. All one needs is an imagination for it to play out.

Soul Awakening
This author has written a story of how wonderfully longing God is that all humanity achieve salvation. He writes clearly and plainly about the terrible fight the enemy is waging to thwart that salvation. Reading this "novel" has ignited in me a desire to pray earnestly for others to be saved from the darkness of ignoring the reality of eternity.

This was okay. I will not read any others in the series. It was very repetitive in both events and language. The characters spoke and acted the same. For example, I could not count how many times different characters said, "a chill up my spine" or "a thrill up my spine". It was a nice, sweet story about a young man, but there really wasn't enough original sustenance to it.

Listening to God.
What a great book. I laughed., cried and couldn’t hardly put this book down. It has fantastic characters, a love of others and a young man who listens to God. We never know how Gods will use us for his kingdom. Some of the comments by the characters made me cry, along with meaningful Bible verses pertaining to story. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Overwhelming
I didn't think I would like this book but ended up overwhelmed and filled with hope and joy. I cried through the majority of the book and it brought me closer to my Lord and Savior. God willing, this needs to happen.

A wonderful read
I found myself praying throughout the whole story. Often there were times I found answers to questions about biblical threads I had been unsure of.
I felt as of i were invited to my own personal revival.

Awesome and Amazing!
I have laughed and cried and cried and rejoiced while reading this book. Truly a page turner!

God’s Great Mercy
I loved this book! I cried through most of it, praising God for His goodness. Loved the flow of the story, easy reading, but heart stopping too. Salvation is the theme along with God’s goodness and mercy. Well worth the read. Soothing to the soul.

Inspirational
I found this novel moving and inspirational. It is interesting to read this book in light of the revival occurring at Asbury University in Kentucky. Our God is powerful

Good very good book. I'm praying for revival. We all need to be praying 🙏 that. Our country is spiraling out of control.

excellent read and eye opener
I loved this book. The realness and the boldness to show God’s calling on who he pleases. The angels we don’t see but can see.. if the Lord opens our eyes to see.

Wow!!! This book was an emotional roller coaster in a great way! The author draws you into the lives of the characters. They seem real and quite often you find yourself cheering them on. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This story grabbed me from the beginning. I loved the characters and was pulled into their life. I loved how God moved in their Lives drawing them closer to him. I can't wait to start the next book.
