MJ Vieira is originally from Southern Maine. She recently moved to Southwestern Missouri with her husband, Alan, son, AJ, and their St. Bernard, Roxy. As a child, she traveled around the state with her parents, seeing the vast history the New England state had to offer as well as touring the nation while showing her American Quarter Horse. While traveling, she read many of the great authors of the time including JRR Tolkien, Stephen King, CS Lewis and Ann Rice. It is these writers combined with power of music, mainly hard rock and folk, MJ draws her inspiration. In between writing, MJ enjoys reading, collecting music and attending concerts. A Forgotten Gods Origins stories as well as one of the stories in the Divinity. A Gods & Goddesses Anthology. This short story is about Gods and the river Nile. Short but sweet.
The Bringer Of The River Waters is one of the stories in this Anthology and it's about Taweret, the Egyptian Hippopotamus goddess and Sobek, the Egyptian Crocodile god. Well, the story also involves all the Egyptian ‘water’ gods too. The aforementioned gods have noticed that there’s something wrong with the Nile. They set off together to discover what the problem is. Well, that, and they begin to explore their own relationship.
This is a short story, but it’s really quite good. Tawaret and Sobek are really good together. This is one of the ‘A Forgotten Gods Origins stories as well as one of the stories in the Divinity: A Gods & Goddesses Anthology. This is a short story and quick read. I will admit that I had to look up a couple of the gods mentioned in the story… I have purchased and read many, if not all, of Ms. Greenwood’s Egyptian books. I love them!
I was given the ARC of Bringer Of The River Waters in exchange for an honest review. I have said this before in other reviews, I always give honest reviews whether people appreciate them or not.
Divinity: A Gods and Goddesses Anthology is packed with magical stories of Gods and Goddesses. I am reviewing Bringer Of The River Waters by Laura Greenwood. Set in the Forgotten Gods Universe this mythological story is about the Egyptian Hippopotamus Goddess Taweret and the Egyptian Crocodile God Sobek. The storyline is captivating and held my attention from the first page until the last. Bringer of the River Waters is a great addition to this anthology and I look forward to reading the rest of the stories. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
