A Gossip Cozy Mystery #6

The Case of the Diabolical Decadence

Rate this book
Winter has come, and with it a vacation, a diabolical plot, and a murder…

Charlotte Mission and her ex-spy grandmother have decided it’s past time they take a vacation. It’s Christmas, and they’re in need of a break from the craziness that is the Gossip Inn and its guests. So they pack up and head out for a vacation in the snowy Crow Lodge and Ski Resort.

Everything’s going great—the skiing is fun, the mountains are beautiful, and the food at the resort is divine—until disaster strikes. The owner of the little lodge is found dead in her room, with a plate of chocolate fudge beside her. The windows are locked, the only entrance through a door that had been monitored all night. Worse, the guests are snowed in, and it’s going to be a while before they get help from local law enforcement.

Charlie and Gamma are on the case, but can they solve it before the murderer, one of the six other guests at the resort, stops them?

Charlie and Gamma are at it again in this snowed in cozy mystery. See if you can figure out which of the mystery guests committed the murder…

Another fantastic book in the Gossip Cozy mystery series and sadly seems like the end of the series, although there is a small door left open. Gramma (as she is called) and granddaughter Charlie go on a ski lodge retreat to celebrate the past year of successes. Now Charlie is going to spread her wings in her own apartment working full-time as a fixer. But she is not leaving Gossip. So with mixed feelings, Gramma is happy for Charlie. So, celebrating a good past year, they went on this retreat only to find some very odd characters there and the hostess' dead body. Being snowed in, Charlie with help from Gamma must figure out who the murderer is since they are all holed up with him. A taste of Agatha Christie here! Charlie and Gramma being former spies take the guests on and set out to find who-dun-it! I love this series and in the end, Charlie says to Gramma she shouldn't worry since even if she her new Fix-it career, she will still need Gramma and her armory to help her occasionally. I love the characters in this series and most especially the dynamic between Charlie and Gramma! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are truly my own.

Thoroughly enjoyed what seems to be the final installment in this series. Grandma and granddaughter both X spies go on a vacation to a lodge to get away from murder and of course there is a murder! Snowed in so no police so they have to do the investigating themselves. Well thought-out mystery. Very fast paced. Lots of laugh out loud humor. And I loved the chicken girl! Sure hope there is another series which continues the adventures of Charlotte the fixer!

Great ending to a fabulous series, although I hope the author will write more with these characters. Charlie & Gamma want to get away to celebrate the last year before Charlie move on from the Gossip Inn to be a full time fixer. Things don't go as planned & they find themselves in the middle of a snow storm & a murder investigation. Pick of a copy of this fantastic story to see how it all plays out.

The last book in the series and I’ve enjoyed reading this very much. The author chose an unusual premise for the background stories for the main characters which made it more interesting. This book is very twisted, I like that in a story. It was fun to read and I really like the characters.

A fun, quick and cozy!

Once again we have Charlotte and Gamma in a classic “whodunnit” set in a warm winter lodge. Just the right amount of cozy needed to satiny the need for a fun, warm read.

This story was like watching a Miss Marple or Poroit show but with Gamma and Charlotte as the lead Detectives with their Spy skills in a Snowed in cabin with a Murder to solve. Loved this series and the ending was so sweet. Off to read the next spin-off.

I can’t put this series down. It keeps my brain on the edge of wanting more. What an amazing book series. The chapters are short and easy to understand. I can’t wis to explore more of her other book series. I know it’ll be the best just like these books.

Not a great ending for a good series. A totally crappy move with the detective relationship.
