I'm a fan of clean stories, which this definitely is. Max is likeable, Valerie comes across way too crass when interacting with him. There's not enough romance to balance the adversity though. I enjoyed reading how they met and he seems driven to want more but without much success, they just couldn't communicate like adults and the continuous individual revisiting the reasons why not makes the story just loop, no clean chemistry just a plethora of doubt. HEA, in the end, which is sweet but it's unbelievable that they even really have any romantic feelings toward one another because they didn't build a friendship let alone a relationship.
Valerie was Max's savior literally when she stopped 2 guys from killing Max. She even pretended to be his wife to the EMT's and hospital staff. Mac was thankful for her saving him, as was Yaya his grandma. The attraction was there between the two, it just took to long for them to finally come together as true couple. I liked these two, but Yaya was my favorite person of this book. I'd love to read more on their story. Do they decide to move to Russia or stay in U.S., does Yaya/Bubulya get her great grandchild?
I loved this book! Jasmine was able to make this book come alive as though the reader were watching a Lifetime movie. Val had told hospital/emergency staff that she was Max’s wife on two occasions and in the end it’s exactly what is going to happen. Max asked and she excepted his proposal. Finally. I heard, over 30 years ago, an expression that this book brought to mind, “I hear your confession (Val’s comment to being Max’s wife) and I believe it’s going to come to pass/or come true.” Definitely a great read.
The only action is him getting beat up!!!! There is no drama just her saying he is going to move away, he doesn't want her!!!! That is all this book is. No real whining and dining. No problems with the paparazzi (even though it states he is in all the magazines). You don't find out what happened to his parents!!!! This book was awful
I gave this modern-day interracial love story a five star rating because it was an interesting read and drama filled, I thought Valerie was a bit ditzy and Max was just confused and didn't know what he wanted, they both were waiting for his other to say that they were interested in one another. Kudos
I don't recall reading a romance book where the main couple, Max and Valerie talked so much. Boy, could they talk and talk they did. No kiss until the book was almost finished. I enjoy clean romances but this was a little ridiculous.
I enjoyed this book, but it took too long for them to get together. By the time they got together, the book ended. I was a little disappointed in that. I wish this storyline would continue.
One of my favorites in the series, even though things kind of dragged on in the end then rush to close. But their connection and silent love is adorable.
this book makes you feel like you're in the middle. You truly get engulfed in the story. I love the flow of the story and the character's chemistry. Love the book!!
