Let me start by saying this is my personal opinion based on my reading experience.
The plot was the main reason that got me interested in this book. I read the prequel The Falling Dawn before I read Seams of Shadow so that I would understand and get into the story better.
I actually thought Seams of Shadow was more structured in how the story progressed and the writing was better compared to the first book and I finished it in like two days. But I did not completely love it. I had high hopes going into this book as I wanted to know what happens next from where book one left off. But, each chapter was about how another rip was closed and the monsters were fought away or of Eriginia's past. I was actually hoping to find out what's next in the path to finding Adonai's and freeing the messengers or Enoch coming back but nothing of sorts happened in this book.
I also thought that there were big words used throughout the book which I honestly wouldn't mind but just felt out of place in this book. Ex: Obsidian sky aka Dark Sky sometimes where it was used just didn't fit in.
Trying to include many mythological characters and stories into one story was also just a bit too much.
And Eos's character was a bittersweet connection for me. I sometimes loved her level-headedness but I absolutely couldn't stand her as well. And what's with her sleeping with every person she meets??? Be it a cannibal or a Nephilim or a god! I know what her past was and for someone who did not want to be that she is totally acting like one.
And the plot twist at the end well I was somewhat expecting it but was a bit weak in my opinion. This book and this plot had soo much potential. Yet I would like to find out what happens next.

I haven't read the first in the series but this did not stop me from liking this one. Initially it took time to get the flow but I was glad I continued. The second half of the book is what I enjoyed more. It was interesting and made me want to know what they do next.
Eos is a celestial healer who has her soul split thrice and now she has to escape an angel who claims to have her entirely. She has to fight battles with the creatures who aren't part of earth to protect her home but it becomes more dangerous with each passing day. Her character was good and more developed towards the end.
Erigenia is a parasite living off on Eos's soul. To stop herself from decaying she takes up their future. She just thinks of herself without bothering about the impact. In her hunger to be immortal she has done bad things for which her past is hunting her now.
The characters were good, it has Adonia, Wisdom Sophia, Isis which had me Google to know their link. The end was good and I want to know what happens next. The writing and plot was okay with this being a nice read overall.

I loved this book even more than the first! I especially enjoyed the amount of different mythologies interwoven within the plot. It felt like this book moved even more quickly than the first and still had lots of wonderful, rich descriptions. Can’t wait to see what will happen next!
