Springtime At Cannon Hall Farm
Join the Nicholson family for this heartwarming journey through a typical springtime on their South Yorkshire farm.
Throughout the book they reflect on the childhood stories, testing times, poignant memories and enriching experiences that have shaped the lives they lead today. With the coming of a new season, Roger and Cynthia Nicholson and their sons Richard, Robert and David show how the farming year is shaped around the arrival of baby goats, lambs, calves and piglets galore.
As Yorkshire's premier open farm attraction, Cannon Hall Farm continues to play host to thousands of visitors and spring is the busiest time of the year. People flock to meet the new arrivals and catch up with old favourites such as the llama and alpaca posse, the stunning shire horses and the irrepressible Shetland ponies, including Ozzie Horsebourne and Jon Bon Pony.
Along with all the animal antics, Springtime at Cannon Hall Farm features tales of bygone days when traditional skills, crafts and daily practices shaped life in the countryside. And for fans of Rob and Dave's Channel 5 shows, there are lots of behind-the-scenes secrets you won't want to miss...

I love the TV programme and I loved this book. So interesting to read about the way Cannon Hall Farm has developed over the years and the sheer hard work and dedication that continues to make it a success. A lovely read - great photos too. Here’s to it going from strength to strength.

I have the first book about Cannon Hall Farm but haven't read it yet, I don't think you need to though because this book is particularly about Springtime and focuses on January - June in the farming year.
Documenting lots of stories about life on the farm, jobs they need to do each month, and going right back to how the farm came to allow public visitors, and become a very well known and almost famous farm, this was an interesting read. I admit I don't watch their TV programme, I have seen a couple but I know of the brothers and the farm from watching The Yorkshire Vet.
Reading this has made me want to catch up on their own programme as I think it would be a very enjoyable watch. I love The Yorkshire Vet and always watch that so I have seen the farm and the brothers on that show.
Very interesting read and good to hear from all members of the family, including their mum and dad! I like how close their relationship is as brothers and the fact they live next door to each other, so they can be on hand 24/7 for the animals. Their caring nature for all animals is very clear to see from reading this book and it was a very interesting read.

Absolutely lived reading The Nicholson's second book and how life is on their farm. Reading about their farming life is incredible and just highlights the magnificent work they all do. I have had the pleasure of meeting Dave and as the book shows he is the most down to earth guy with such a passion for giving his animals the best life!
