PAWS for Romance #2

Catering to Love: (Clean Contemporary Texas Hill Country Romance)

Rate this book
A beautiful chef has perfected at least a thousand recipes. But will she and her handsome martial arts instructor find the right ingredients when they begin Catering to Love?

It takes confidence to launch a new catering company, but Chef Amber Pearson is fresh out, thanks to her philandering ex-husband. Her brother's suggestion that she sign up for a self-defense class seems like a great idea to help her rebuild her self-esteem. It's only a few hours a week and there's no commitment ... she's definitely not ready for any sort of commitment.

Luis Mendoza is faced with a dilemma when his high school crush walks into his martial arts studio on Town Square. He came home to help his family after his father's untimely death and to start his own business, which means he needs to stay sharp and focused. Feeling like a nerdy seventeen-year-old again every time Amber shows up for class definitely doesn't fit in with his plans.

Will Amber be able to learn to trust and love again? And, as they get closer, can Luis stop worrying that she isn't really over her cheating ex, or that he could show up at any time to try to win her back?

Catering to Love is a charming and heartwarming small-town romance filled with warmth, healing, and the courage it takes to begin again. Chef Amber Pearson is an instantly relatable heroine, rebuilding her confidence and sense of self after heartbreak while bravely pursuing her dream of launching a catering business. Her journey feels authentic and inspiring, making it easy to root for her from the very first page.

Luis Mendoza adds the perfect balance of strength and tenderness to the story. As a dedicated martial arts instructor carrying his own responsibilities and memories from the past, his quiet devotion and emotional sincerity make him an incredibly lovable hero. The rekindling of their connection is sweet, natural, and full of genuine chemistry, blending humor, vulnerability, and heartfelt moments beautifully.

The small-town setting and supportive community create a cozy backdrop that perfectly complements the clean, feel-good romance. Themes of trust, self-worth, and second chances shine throughout the story, reminding readers that love often arrives when we least expect it and sometimes exactly when we need it most.

Warm, uplifting, and deeply satisfying, Catering to Love is a delightful addition to the PAWS for Romance series and a wonderful read for anyone who enjoys wholesome, emotionally rich romance.

Luis is owner of a martial arts studio and Amber is a chef who excels at desserts for gatherings and holidays. She decides to take self defense classes in response to her ex causing trouble... again. They divorced due to his infidelity and overpowering attitudes. Luis and Amber start a slow romance amid the November and December holidays. The characters are determined and their families are behind what they want to do and give them strength. Her family has a B&B business that she cooks for as well as PAWS events. Stress shows as migraines and sleepless nights as the ex continues to bother her and she and Luis are so busy with the holidays and family to see each other. Miscommunication also plays a major role between them until it all comes clear at Christmas, with the help of family telling on them. The story and twists are dynamite and the locales are vivid with description. You will not put this book down as it is just too good to stop.

Clean Contemporary Texas Hill Country Romance/PAWS for Romance the second book. A well written story with a very good storyline. I enjoyed reading divorcee Chef Amber Pearson and Luis Mendoza's story of a second chance. I am glad of what happened to her ex-husband Paul at the Nosh. I want to read more in this series. The story is a slow paced, sweet clean romance with a small town feel. The town is beautiful and so are the descriptions. I loved the romance on the slow burner and the Christmassy feel to the story.
The characters are well etched and I loved them. I loved their families too. I hope all the siblings of Amber and Luis get a story of their own.
The story has been written well and is an enjoyable read.

It is a very slow build novel but has a good idea and plot. I felt as if it was a bit hard to connect with the characters but nevertheless enjoyed the story. I liked the problems and the way the characters were able to solve them. It was a pretty good novel overall but I wouldn’t think of reading it again.

I wrote this voluntary review in exchange for an ARC copy.

Love the story!
Big, buff, Army vet... lack self-confidence around the grown-up version of the girl he crushed on all through high school. He seems surprised when she says she was never as perfect nd self-confident as he believed her to be.

She isn't sure his comments are friendly or flirty.... Then there's the return of her ex...
