Can't Buy My Love

Rate this book
“Here’s where I sell you on me.”

Not my best line to entice Dillon Knight to buy a truck. Especially because when he shows up at my family’s car dealership, he’s hesitant to trust me as a salesperson. Can’t say I blame him. I pretended to be a couch saleswoman the first time we met. Then, he was an unsuspecting pawn in a joke gone awry. Who knew I’d see the handsome stranger again?

Now I have to convince him I’m great at my job, and the longer I spend doing that, something happens. An unfamiliar urge to spend more time with the quirky guy emerges.

Turns out, I don’t only want to sell Dillon a brand-new truck. My love is also on the market.

I've read books by this author before and I always like her style of writing. This book is a fun, quick novella and is a really easy going read and is part of The Girl Power Romance Collection, and let me tell you she really does have girl power.

Brennan is a car saleswoman and loves her job, She is very independent, sexy and confident woman and always knows what the customer needs.
Dillon was just in the right place at the right time when he met her, but he didn't really know what he wanted or how to get it. They met while he was looking for a coach and she could read him totally. When they meet again its obvious that these two have a connection.

The short story flows beautifully and packs a lot in. I loved the characters and how this author has written them, I loved them both together. I feel that the reader can really connect with them and this story and this Insta love story is well worth reading. This was a great quick read and I enjoyed reading it all in one go.

A legit laugh out loud story full of quirkiness, humor, and breath of fresh air banter all carefully wrapped up in the pages of a book. I have read every. single. one. of the author's books. Each one has its own unique spin on romance and happily ever afters. I fell in love with Brennan and Dillon from their first meeting in the furniture store. Brennan was a bad*** who not only knew how to sell a sofa in a store where she did not work, but also a rockstar car salesperson for her family's company. I was a bit disappointed that the story was shorter than the author's average books, but Taylor did an awesome job of giving the reader a well-rounded story using less words that usual. I'm going to need a quick check-in with these characters at some point (hint, hint, Taylor).

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

How can one fit cringeworthy embarrassment, unorthodox meetings, funny moments, and awkwardness while falling in love into one novella? I still can’t quite figure out how it was done, but Taylor did so wonderfully! Dillon doesn’t know what he needs or wants, but he’s got a vague idea of what he doesn’t...and then some strange chick effortlessly picks his perfect wants out of his mind, only to disappear once the damage is done to his credit card. But he can’t deny that she was right, so when he meets his mystery woman again, he’s equally rattled and intrigued.

Brennan is used to people being rattled by her, but the intrigue? Not so much. It doesn’t help that she has those same feelings for Dillon. But as they navigate the “getting to know you” waters, things that could be dealbreakers for anyone else seem like just the perfect way to determine how much each of them wants a future together.

Yeah, this was short. Especially when you’ve read Taylor’s other books and you know how much of a punch she packs into those pages. But this one manages to have just as much impact in a fraction of the time. Brennan and Dillon gave me a perfect fun, light read to break up my week and I wouldn’t have their story go any other way.

Ok, I can’t pinpoint one particular part of this book that was my favorite part. I mean there was awkwardness, quirkiness, self doubt. I know none of those sound good however all of that combined with just enough sweetness and heat made for a quick and entertaining read. From their first meeting I was invested and I couldn’t get enough of Brennan and Dillion. By the time I got to the last page I was left with a cheesy grin on my face.

Novellas usually leaving me wanting more. Can’t Buy My Love definitely makes me want to continue along with Brennan & Dillion’s relationship, however, the author did a great job of “covering all the bases”. As a reader, I have just enough of the story to be satisfied. I’d love more, but I am truly happy with Can’t Buy My Love. Starting with the couch in the furniture store all the way to the jewelry store, I couldn’t stop reading. If you’re looking for a quick, uplifting novella with lots of girl power, Can’t Buy My Love is the perfect choice.

This was a fun novella & quick read! Brennan & Dillon had an unusual first meeting & then surprise when he went to her place of business to buy a car. They were perfect for each other. Dillon knew vaguely what he needed (new couch & truck) and Brennan could read him perfectly & know just what he needed. This was a sweet story and I would love to read more with these characters.

A brilliant novella. Although this was a novella it was very enjoyable and I loved the whole story and the characters themselves were so brilliantly written and so enjoyable to read about. The story had everything I love all in there without feeling rushed or without anything missing.

I really loved this novella. Brennen was a fun character to get to know. I loved the fact that she worked in a male environment and could hold her own. Dillon was a great character as well. I’m hoping to meet more of Brennen’s brothers in future books.

I cannot say enough about this book. Dillon and Brennan met at the most unlikely place and I loved every exchange between the two.

As always, I am a huge Taylor Delong fan but this book is one of her best.

Brennan has such a way with words, she could sell ice to an Eskimo ;)
Dillon has such a hard time with change and feelings and Brennan is so outspoken, the two really do make an amazing couple.

Taylor, as always, thank you for your words and for the opportunity to read them all. You blow me away with your ability and I am so grateful to call you a friend. Don't ever stop writing, I need your words in my life.

I loved how fun this book is. The witty banter between the characters, the unusual situations they find themselves in, and the storyline in general had me quickly turning the pages.

A great addition to the Girl Power Romance Collection.

Find out why “you had me at the couch” came to be one of my favorite lines by reading it for yourself.

This was definitely a fun couple. Dillon and Brennan had one of the most unusual meet cutes I’ve seen. Unusual in a good way. Not the same old thing. Lots of witty banter. Brennan is on top of her game. It’s a novella that doesn’t feel like you’re cheated out of part of the story.

This book was literally the cutest thing I have ever read!!!!

How cute is the name Brennen?! Her name matched her attitude and personality. She was sassy yet shy, confident and knew what she wanted and how to get it! I loved her because she too reminds me of myself. I had no idea she didn't work in the furniture shop were it all started with a couch. It seems she had a knack for letting people know what they wanted even if they didn't. It was almost like it was her super power. She just had a way with her that worked not only on others, but Dillion as well.

Dillion! OMG, he was something special! I love how she made him speechless but when he put thought into it what the situation was or what was being asked or said, he always had a charming come back! He was as sweet as can be and everything Brennen could want a more! She challenged he and he accepted. Little did he know that she would soon work her magic on him.

Let’s talk about the sex!!! Very interesting first sex scene and how it unfolded! I loved how it wasn't rushed, not really planned but sort of expecting it to happen. In the end, they just went with the flow and boy did it flow well and into so much more! That was incredibly sexy to me! The sex scenes following were epic! Some book have too much or are over the top, but in this book it was perfectly splendid!

It started with a couch but ended up to be so much more! This book was short, sweet, and to the point! I loved the storyline from the beginning to end! Brennen made a name for herself and proved to be a voice that needed to be heard and Dillion had those listening ears.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome job Taylor!

This is a story about Brenna Scott who is strong and determined and knows not only what she wants but how to sell someone what they need but not so knowledgeable about love. She meets Dillon Knight in a furniture store where he was looking for a couch and unexpectedly again at her family car dealership where she is an excellent salesperson. Their attraction is immediate. They run into each other again and that is where the fun starts. I love how the author develops this beautiful love story with no angst or breakups and the supporting characters of Brennan's protective brother Mike and Dillon's sister Mackie who raised him. This is a beautiful and enjoyable story and I absolutely loved it. I have read this author previously and love her work. I look forward to reading more of her books.

Fun meet-cute romance. Brennan is the bomb. She is such a unique character and the way she comes across Dillon the first time--Who does that? Oh yeah, Brennan does. Dillon and Brennan just click. How they react with the crazy nerves and word vomit were so funny. The bonus scene is perfection.
