Learn to Read Biblical Hebrew: A Guide to Learning the Hebrew Alphabet, Vocabulary and Sentence Structure of the Hebrew Bible
Anyone interested in learning to read the Hebrew Bible in its original language will find within the pages of this book all the resources needed to begin this wonderful journey. The book is laid out in four parts. The first part teaches the Hebrew alphabet through a series of lessons. The second part teaches word and sentence structure of the Hebrew language by breaking down each Hebrew word in Genesis chapter one, verses one through five. The Hebrew text of Genesis chapter one is provided for reading and comprehension practices in part three. The fourth part of the book contains charts and dictionaries of prefixes, suffixes, words and roots of the Hebrew language to assist the reader with vocabulary definitions and comprehension. Within a short amount of time the Hebrew student will soon be reading the Bible through the eyes of the author rather than the opinions of a translator.

The book is a fine guide to the ancient Hebrew alfabet, language, grammar and partly of the poetry of Genesis. However as a Kindle user I would like to get all the grammar, meaning and construction of each word in the text samples when you touch the word. There is a list of words, but you have to scroll for ever and ever when you want to find the meaning of a word. But this is perhaps an idea for a an improved interactive version.

Good introduction.
This book is a good introduction to the Hebrew language. I go so far as to say it is essential if you want to understand the scriptures to know Hebrew at some level. While the book will not make you fluent in the language, it will give you a solid foundation.

For a person learning Hebrew and knowing only some of the alphabet, I feel this book has helped me a lot in the basics of Hebrew. I am going through it yet again to feel a more steady stepping in the language before going into a more intermediate study
