Basic but great for explaining the foundations of astrology to beginners and introducing them to working through each signs energy. The tarot spreads, journal prompts and explanations of the actual zodiac are a good starting point for people interested in collective astrology.

Be warned however, that the author is far from an expert on crystals and recommends washing all crystals with water including selenite and malachite which is very alarming and unsafe. Take their recommended tools and rituals with a pinch of salt.

I like the moon rituals in this book, but there's a lot of room for improvement here. First of all, the new moon rituals for each season of the zodiac appear before the full moon rituals. But the full moon usually comes before the new moon, right? That's the way it's been since I started tracking it anyway. So I'm not sure why the new moon is listed first, but it doesn't really make sense. Even the moon ephemeris at the back of the book is like that: new moon dates listed before full moon dates, so the dates are backwards! Why???? (Also some of the dates are wrong.)

Second major gripe I have is the author lists out all the things for the ritual, but doesn't tell you why you're including them. I would like to know what the significance of these rocks or the color of the candles if I'm going out of my way to find them. Plus sometimes she forgets she told you to gather them for a ritual and never says what to do with them. So you just have to wing it, I guess.

Again, I do like the rituals and will continue to do them, but overall I think this book is a bit half-hearted. C for effort definitely.

Note: I only bought this book for the astrology and moon rituals, I don't care about tarot or the journaling so I can't speak to that.

Beautifully illustrated book of tarot spreads based on zodiac seasons. However, the tarot spreads and full moon rituals get quite repetitive. Sadly, this is not a book I see myself returning to often.
