The doodles were cute, but as a self-help book, it was very basic and I did not learn much from it. It might be more useful for someone who is reading about introversion for the very first time.

As a rule, I don't generally read books in the "self-help" category, but I've been following Marzi's "Introvert Doodles" on Instagram for years, so I knew I would find something of value in it's pages.
I enjoyed her stories of childhood, most of which I could relate to, and I appreciated the advice for adult introverts in situations like jobs and relationships. Of course the fun illustrations added the same humor that make her comics so relatable.

An informative and humorous book that is perfect for Introverts like me to read! You begin to have a clear understanding of what makes you tick and it's okay for the reason we are who we are. It not only gives explanations but solutions on how to be comfortable in your own skin.

I hoped this book would be more like Marzi’s web comics—funny and insightful. But the advice was very basic and the images really just repeated that advice instead of adding to it. Cute idea, though!

A great tool understanding yourself or that introvert in your life.
Once I understood that I was an introvert, things started making so much sense. As an introvert, my energy comes from (I recharge through) alone time. Sometimes being around other people can be too much, but people are everywhere and we love many of them. This book helps with advice, tips, tricks, and escape plans for how to live in this world where we are all so connected.

A warm hug and a feeling of being truly seen.
Another warm hug (if you like that kind of thing) from a wonderful author and illustrator. I found her years ago on Instagram and Marzi’s work had quickly become an auto-purchase for me. Her willingness to share her own situations and vulnerabilities with the world is amazing and I greatly appreciate her making me (and other introverts) feel seen and not alone.

I highly recommend this book for everyone.

If you're familiar with Marzi (the name often seen in her social media handles) and her comics around on social media and in books, you won't be surprised with this one. It is a cute little self-help introductory book to being an introvert. What it is, what it can look like for some (and not others), some experiences the author has had while growing up and an introvert, plus some self-help tips.

Unsurprisingly the author also talks about her own personal experiences as a child and adult, and you can probably relate if you're also an introvert or know them pretty well. Interspersed are her thoughts on what happened, how maybe could have handled it differently, why it affected her in this way as an introvert, etc.

That's pretty much it. I liked that unlike a lot of self-help books our protagonist does not dwell too much or too long on herself (which is fine for some books but it probably would not have worked well here, especially given the author's style). A lot of it was relatable, even if I had not personally experienced something like the author describes herself.

If you're not new to introversion then there probably won't be a lot here that's "new" for you, but I think this could be a fantastic resource for someone who might not care for the approach that Susan Cain takes (not a criticism of her, but not everyone would like a lot of text). If you like graphic novels or find it helpful to have text broken up by images, this could be a great read for you. I suppose if I had any suggestions I would have liked additional resources that perhaps Marzi liked or recommended.

Bought as a bargain book but would have happily bought it at full price. If you're not sure, a library borrow is also great but it could also make for an excellent gift for someone who is new to introversion and enjoys graphic novels.

Introversion is widely misunderstood, among those on the opposite end of the spectrum and even among those who exhibit its tendencies. Maureen “Marzi” Wilson’s "Positively Introverted: Finding Your Way in a World Full of People" is an illustrated book filled with helpful advice on learning about and accepting all the goodness that comes with being an introvert. Wilson spent a lifetime understanding her own introverted preferences and defining boundaries in family dynamics, friendships (both online and in-person), dating, and success at work. The list of useful tips runs the gamut from surviving busy and chaotic airports to negotiating a salary increase, all presented in Wilson’s delightfully unique writing style and accompanied by colorful and fun sketches.

"Positively Introverted" is a whimsical take on overcoming the challenges of being an introvert in an often loud, overwhelming world that emphasizes quantity over quality in social interactions. Wilson shares her process of self-discovery, from taking care of yourself to realizing the benefits of therapy and the power of play. This book is enjoyable and affirming for the introvert who is just realizing the value of protecting one’s private nature. For anyone who has struggled with succumbing to the expectations of extroversion, the coping strategies suggested in Positively Introverted offer comfort, like spending a cozy night at home with a new book.

This is a lighthearted book full of fun doodles that illustrate how it feels to be an introvert in an extroverted world. The ideas are relatable and the story is fun to follow. The ways she expresses how introverts behave and navigate in this world are creative and whimsical, and I gleaned several nuggets of wisdom from the topics she covers.

In particular, reading about the tough experiences Marzi had as a child and being misunderstood really resonated with me because I am currently trying to help my sensitive and anxiety-prone son navigate social situations in kindergarten. I am desperately trying to find a balance between pushing him outside of his comfort zone and allowing him space to go at his own pace. Above all, I want to be a caring adult in his life and a safe place to take refuge.

This was such a fun, quick read, and I'm glad it exists for introverts to feel understood and be encouraged.

I love this author/illustrator! I discovered her through her original drawings focusing very astutely, on feelings and situations of being an introvert. I love that her content and her artwork can speak to multi generations because she really gets at the heart of some of the struggles of being an introvert in a very simple insightful way. I like how in this book, she went into a little more detail about what being an introvert is like and sharing some of her own personal experiences alongside her signature illustrations.

I felt very seen and understood and her work is so relatable to me. I would have loved having Marzi Wilson’s books in my youth to understand myself a little bit better and know that it’s OK to be an introvert!

This is a cute, quick guide to protecting your energy and enforcing boundaries. I think all young adults could get something helpful from this, introverted or not.

I'm only giving this 3 stars because I personally have some issues with the introvert label. I think it's very limiting and can be a dismissive label for people struggling with mental health issues. Is true introversion even a real thing? How much of introverted behavior is a learned coping skill or a trauma response?

Very cute illustrated advice for introverts. It feels like it would be perfect for young adults just feeling their way into jobs and relationships. Being older than that demographic I skimmed through a lot but found it charming and supportive. I found this after following the author on Instagram. Definitely worth a follow!

I picked up this book because I'm an introvert and I look the doodle aspect of the book to keep things light. Had this book been around years ago when I was in my early twenties, it would've really helped me understand myself more. Now, it's a good reinforcement and reminder that I'm not alone and it's really okay to have my preferences.

I found this book very interesting and helpful. Provided lots of information that can help with an introvert like myself. There are a lot of lists as the doodles though which was sort of distracting for myself.

I think I am an ambivert by nature, but I am an introvert by choice. Thus, I might not get benefits from this book that much. However if you were born an introvert, this book might be perfect for you.

This book has so many similarities and parallels to my life I questioned if I somehow wrote it and forgot about doing it. An excellent resource for introverts and those who work/live/know introverts. I recommend it to everyone.

This was such a good book AND very well illustrated too! Took my time with this one because, due to ultimate doodle cuteness, I would’ve blown through this book in a day or two.

Adults need picture books too okay?! Let’s petition for more! I’m talking to you, Marzi!

(Marzi and I would be introverted besties for sure!)

Actually had picked up for my kids and was reading along with them. It was insightful but as we got further, the chapters weren’t as relatable. Might continue just for me at another time

The book sheds a lot of insights on the mind of an introvert person. I would say it can be pretty humorous in certain areas but it still delivers the message well.
