I want to encourage you to read this book, especially if you lack hope or feel like you’re at rock bottom. This book shows how much God loves us and continually pursues us, no matter how far we’ve fallen. We’re never too far from Him. Even though we may feel unseen, unheard, or too far gone … Jesus sees us, hears us, and loves us! This book is a good reminder that our lives drastically change when we open up our hearts and lives to Jesus. I loved how this book shows how the Lord will meet us at every turn, and will continually lift us up and guide us as He heals our hearts and draws us nearer to Him. I especially loved the chapter on forgiveness.

I think this book not only offers hope to the hopeless but also encourages others who’ve had similar experiences of how God’s love pulled them out of a bottomless pit and radically changed their lives to share their testimony with others. I think testimonies are powerful and are not shared enough. I’ve had many similar experiences as Cristina and have always felt ashamed and discouraged to share with others. But I’ve always felt that with so many people who are hurting and feeling alone, why wouldn’t we share what the Lord has done for us – it may just be what their hearts need to hear at that moment. These “me too” experiences may be what the Holy Spirit uses to open their hearts and bring fresh hope and strong faith to believe in miracles for their lives and others. Prayer changes things, and I’m a true believer that if He did it for me, He will do it for you.

In Hope for 60 seconds, Cristina has a powerful testimony on the love and hope of Jesus Christ and encourages others. Cristina had a traumatic childhood including abuse, homelessness, and addiction, and continues to struggle with addiction as a young adult. Shortly after she is arrested, she is welcomed into a prayer meeting at her workplace where she accepts Christ and is transformed. In sharing the challenges she has faced and her transformation after becoming a Christian, Cristina provides hope, encouragement, and reminds us that Jesus can overcome the brokenness and darkness in our world and our lives.

I purchased Hope In 60 Seconds after hearing Cristina Baker share her testimony of the Life Today Program. Her story is living proof that God has plan for each of our lives. I knew her book would bless me, and I looked forward to reading it.

In the Introduction, Christina Baker shares how Hope for 60 Seconds came into existence. It started by her sharing a 60 second prayer on the Internet. As people responded, these prayers went viral. She wrote the book to share how the Lord took her broken life and transformed her from inside out. Her story reveals the reality of a God who creates beauty out of ashes. And how hope was found through the love of God!

Yes; through God's love, Christina Baker found the missing piece in her life through Jesus Christ. The subtitle for the book is: Encountering the God of the Impossible. Hers story inspires others to see hope in a whole new light. God is the giver of hope; and He is no respecter of persons.

I finished this book but need to go back and read it again. Cristina Baker's story reveals great truths about God's love. Her story is a living testimony of the promises found in His Word. Her story reminds me of God's great love for me; how He never leaves me or abandons me; and He does have a purpose for my life; and He will fulfill the destiny He planned for my life. This book filled me with hope. Praise the Lord!

We are living in times where hope is desperately needed for people of all ages. Faith in God and hope go together as readers discover through reading this book. If you or someone who know have lost hope, then please read this book.

Only four stars because the writing could have been a bit more organized. Writing was good, just not exceptional. The message was exceptional. When people give their testimony, often they will focus on a human behavior or involvement. Instead, this author gave preference to her Rescuer. The main character in this book is evident. It’s God, His power and grace. The audio was by the author. The energy and be passion could not have been better.

This was alright. It read more like a sermon that someone's story. The author barely scratched the surface with what brought about certain decisions in her life. I guess I was expecting more honesty on her life versus an in-depth analysis of scripture.

Hope in 60 Seconds by Cristina Baker is the Author's Testimony. Ms. Baker's life story is a real page turner. I stand in awe of what she has been through and what God has pulled her through. I found Hope in 60 Seconds very encouraging and I highly recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.
