‘There’s An Alien in the Attic’ is a fun rhyming story featuring a young boy that I presume lives in the UK because there are words and phrases in this book like “whilst”, “bits”, “biscuits”, and “have a see”. I just love that!
The boy, who is a self described space expert, hears strange noises coming from the attic that he believes can only be an alien whose ship has crashed landed into his roof. His curiosity, fueled by his vivid imagination, leads him up the attic stairs where he is surprised, and probably a little relieved, to discover exactly what or who is causing all the racket.
The imaginative, suspenseful, rhyming elements of the story made this a super fun read aloud. The vibrant illustrations feature a young boy of color, playful aliens, and beautiful scenes that are extremely detailed, eye-catching, and evoke a sense of wonder and creativity.
I highly recommend this book as an entertaining, bedtime read aloud. I love that the main character is interested space, has a vivid imagination, and exhibits much bravery and a desire to be helpful. This smart story will definitely inspire your children to think outside of the box and help the little ones learn their colors.

A loud noise awakens a young boy in the middle of the night, and it is coming from his attic. Immediately, the boy expects the noise is being made by an alien intruder who has crash landed at his house. As an avid space enthusiast, the boy imagines what the alien could look like, including all manner of unusual and detailed possibilities. After listening to the noise above him for a little while, the boy ultimately decides to brave the unknown to see if he can help. This rhyming picture book capitalizes on the boundless imagination of young children, especially those who are interested in space and the myriad creatures who might reside there. With only a line or two on each page, young readers are immediately drawn into the story, carried along by rhyming couplets and an intriguing narrative. The primary font is playful, and many lines incorporate a word or two that stand out in a different size or color to emphasize the concept presented. This feature helps to connect emerging readers to the purpose of writing and its inherent meaning. Imaginative, detailed illustrations bring out the boy’s thoughts, featuring a vast array of silly and unusual creatures who might have found their way to his house. Depicted against vibrant backdrops, each potential alien is more intriguing than the last. Rich color and ample detail allow readers to engage as much with the images as with the text itself. Ideal for a bedtime read, young children and their families will enjoy this delightfully endearing story about visitors from another world.

Was it an alien... Such a comical surprise ending to this fun story!
Napisana rymem (ang.) i zilustrowana z fantazją.
What a gorgeous book! My youngest son (4 years old) and I really enjoyed reading this together and talking about all the different shapes and sizes of the aliens! Can't wait for the next book!
