HARD-HITTING PULP ACTION – AS THE BULLETS BLAZE IN A SCORCHED EARTH SHOWDOWN THEY’LL DISCOVER WHAT TRULY MATTERS MOST.
In the cold, lonely world of hired guns, Malakai is a legendary trigger-puller. The victim of a twisted, abusive childhood that left him both physically and emotionally scarred, blood and bullets have become his religion. Once partnered with Gabriel Asher before he walked away, Malakai stayed with the Company, honing his lethal skills to become the quintessential lone wolf assassin.
When he is contracted to stop the Syndicate—a powerful Japanese crime organization—from blackmailing the chairperson of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Malakai discovers someone is playing Judas and he needs to flush them out before he gets burned.
As the chaos and carnage escalate, his life gets complicated by the arrival of a mysterious woman who may have even more scars on her soul than he does. But is she really who she says she is? With betrayal all around him, Malakai knows one wrong move could cost him his life.
When the Syndicate hires a ruthless assassin named Jesus to hunt him down, Malakai knows the only way to survive is to fight fire with hellfire.

The Assassins... Book 2... Great Action.... Fast Paced... Great Ending.... Just a fraction above Book 1, but two great books. Please continue with The Assassin's Series.

Both very close to the same story, Book 1 and Book 2 but understanding the story going forward, very clear and reading most books you will understand.
Another Hardcore action story from a guy who loves his action movies. Well written, easy to read, and a story that doesn't let up. Once again, as stated, a reprint that has had a full overhaul so that it reads like a totally new book. The start of what will be hopefully a long running series.
Absolutely the Best Hardcore Action Ever! Readers looking for a visceral combination of raw, redemptive drama mixed with unflinching violence and a touch of romance, this more than fulfills any such desire! No slow spots; only high speed page-turner action throughout!
After reading this book I am conflicted. Can you have a soft ending to a story about an assassin's life and exploits? I'll not answer that for you but you'll need to read this book and its prequel. You'll read of plenty of death, wounds, beatings and gun play. You'll read about plots and conniving and worse against enemies, real and perceived. But through it all both books, this one especially, will show you something you never thought you'd read about in thrillers like this. And that is this, don't figure the ending out too soon. You just might be wrong.
I’m glad Allen is getting the reviews he’s gotten for his “the Assassins” series. Writing is not an easy task. I’m also glad I read through them both, and in particular, this one today. To me, both novels are the same: Killer kills really bad guys, meets girl who always has a perfect rear end, he falls for her, as she awakens a still voice within his being that indicates he’ll change and you’re off to the gory ending. The end.
I love this newer series. Mr Allen is a different kind of writer, he gets at the character's inner emotions and personality better than most. I absolutley love the way he writes. Keep them coming.
This is my kind of book. Great characters, great plot, can't put down booking absolutely loved every fix king minute of it. Can't wait to read more of his books. These two were fantastic.
I now have another author to follow. What a great series with action and no filler. Love how the Asher and Malakai story developed. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!
Sadly DNF. I struggled on to about 50% but it just became s story about malaki and a whore(sic) I'm not interested in any kind of love story so I got bored quickly by this & gave up.
Like “The Assassin’s Prayer,””The Assassin’s Betrayal” was a good “ blood and guts” action novel. The author knows his weapons well, and his non-stop action/thriller holds your attention from start to finish.
