You know what’s more boring than being the daughter of cattle ranchers?
You guessed it nothing.
I was born in Colston, Montana, an isolated place far away from anything exciting, and I have never not been bored out of my mind.
The moment I turned twenty, I was out of there. College was never for me, I wanted to see the world before I had to figured out the rest of my life.
I had only just begun when my car breaks down in the middle of a thunderstorm on the side of the road. The only town for miles is Bear Ridge, and just my luck the only thing open is a diner called Manny’s.
Instead of getting away and seeing the world, I’m now stuck in a town, that doesn’t have wifi or tow trucks and they haven't caught up with the twenty-first century, but they do have three men who do funny things to my insides. I now have an unexpected weeklong holiday in Bear Ridge.
Not bad but not great either. Chloe decides to venture out of her small town and ends up in Bear Ridge where she encounters her fated mates. Naturally she doesn’t know that they’re shifters. Chloe’s character was a bit inconsistent and frustrating. There’s a lot of yelling at the guys yet and inner monologue about how she’s not putting up with their crap yet she folds like a bad poker hand all the while mumbling about alphaholes. I didn’t mind the insta-lust and the confusion it caused Chloe as that’s pretty par for the course. What was truly irritating and made zero sense for the book is why the author chose to set this in Montana when she uses British slang. I have no problem with jumpers and joggers and car bonnets. But, hey, most Americans aren’t eating a proper English breakfast and calling each other arseholes. The author could have easily set this in some fictitious town in the UK since, you know, Bear Ridge is a fictional place and the slang would have been fine.
Absolutely loved this book! The one thing that really makes it enjoyable besides the wonderful story is that all the book by Charity all have intertwining characters from all her books. So it is nice to see them come back up at some point and get a glimpse of things they are up to. But this in no way takes from the book and you don't have to read the others to understand it. This story is very intriguing and sucks you in from the very beginning, needing to know what is going to happen. It has an air of mystery to it that you will continually keep trying to guess what is going to happen. And the men are hot as sin. All alpha-holes but sweet in their own rights and they make the perfect balance for the FMC Chloe. She is feisty, independent, and very strong. Definitely can not wait for the next book to come out. Highly recommend this book and all of Charity's other books as well.
Could have been good but there are a lot of plot holes and bad grammar. At one point there are around 5 sentences in a row that start with I. Something like "I waited, I looked, I grabbed. Just seemed like somthing a child would write. The whole thing revolves around a curse that claims that the bears can't have kids but somehow to break it the later generations need to mate. Somehow all these characters are born. Also at one point it says the curse makes it so anyone born in bear ridge can't leave yet her family left along with the bears following her multiple times. Just doesn't make sense. It is a nice try but the book needs some work.

DNF at 41% when Mitchell finds the FMC Chloe again.
I had originally read a preview of this story in the anthology The Princess and her Alphaholes and had given it a 3-star rating and an interest to pick up the full story. However, this book was very poorly edited and written with choppy dialogue and narration and barely any proper character development. There was even a footnote in the first page of Kindle edition I read with an editing suggestion?!?! While by no means the only incorrectly used words that stood out to me, "darlin'" and "margarita" were capitalized on and off with no reason.
The smut scenes were interjected rather abruptly in the plot and with no organic introduction. When Chloe freaked out afterwards about said sudden intimate times and still had no idea about the secret bear shifter nature of the town, I couldn't handle the writing anymore and had to quit.
Thought this would be a easy read light romance. There is a lot of rinse and repeat the characters may as well be the same person. There isn't an actual plot, the H is flighty makes you wonder how she even managed to get to the town on her own.
The writing style is jarring made it to 51% with quite a bit of skipping before I gave up. 2* because sadly I've come across worse writing.
This is a great start to the series, The MFC just wants see the world, but things don’t go the way she planned. In a small town where some people act a little strange and four gorgeous guys give her feelings she didn’t expect. Her whole world is about to get crazier! With Bears, Demons, Curses and Witches. Can not wait for book two!
This book has give a great start to a bear shifter romance. Chloe is a shifter but doesn't know it and when she meets her mates she is brought into a world she didn’t know existed. Now there is more going on and need to know more now.
The start of the book was amazing! I had read it in an anthology before and really was into the story but by the end of the book just felt rushed and like it wasn't up to scratch.
I think this book was previously released, either in an anthology or own its own, as I remember reading it before. Be warned that it ends on a cliffhanger and there is no indication, at this time, that a sequel is forthcoming. Questions galore still remain unanswered.
