Accompanying her aunt's aunt to the seaside for the summer, Miss Elizabeth Bennet runs, quite literally, into none other than Miss Darcy. Mr. Wickham's plans go awry and his relationship to Mrs. Younge is uncovered earlier than our villain would wish. Enter a resentful Darcy.
Rating: clean: although there were discussions of a smarmy leach of a character that sniffed around anything with a skirt. He already outlived two wives and was looking for another with plans for one after her. [ugh, I think I threw up a bit]. Then we have the SBRB Wickham and his accomplice. So, the rating was a bit slimy but clean of graphic sex or sensuality. Angst level: low: Source: unpublished: 4-Acts with 4-scenes in each + epilogue. It was a quick read that only took me a few hours.
Our favorite aunt in JAFF stories, Mrs. Gardiner, had a favorite aunt, Aunt Marianne. This was someone you’d love to have in your family. She was sharp, witty, incorrigible, wise beyond her years, and a matchmaker at heart. She was as subtle as a Sherman tank but kinder than say a Mrs. Jennings. She had chosen Elizabeth as a companion for the summer as she visited her house at Ramsgate. Yes, guess who else was at Ramsgate? Elizabeth ran into [literally] Georgiana and Mrs. Younge. Thus, a friendship was established.
I really enjoyed the Elizabeth this author presented. She was smart, and she instantly saw that Georgiana was in danger. When Mr. Darcy arrived, the fur hit the fan and another friendship was set forth. I loved how this traveled a natural course toward a happy ever after. There were inconsistencies, of course. You have to expect that in the forums. However, it was fun watching the love interest develop. What fun. I recommend this for a quick, delightful read. [3.5 round to 4-stars]
A Pride and Prejudice seqel where Elizabeth Bennet is visiting relations in Ramsgate, so does it change Georgiana Darcy's actions. And what of Elizabeth and Darcy. An enjoyable story.
