When sleeping dogs won't lie, an idyllic island becomes the devil's playground.
Nora Sommer is finally living a peaceful existence on the perfect Caribbean island with a boyfriend she adores. But the past is never far behind, and when a killer shows up to even an old score, her world will change forever.
Nora must fight her own demons to save herself and her love in the prequel novella to the series.
Finding Sommer bridges Nora's story in the AJ Bailey series to her new world wearing a Royal Cayman Islands Police uniform.
A USA Today bestselling author, Nicholas Harvey's life has been anything but ordinary. Race car driver, motorsports professional, adventure traveller, divemaster, and since 2020, a full-time novelist. Raised in England, Nick has dual UK and US citizenship and now lives nomadically wherever he and his amazing wife, Cheryl, choose to land for a few months. He is the author of the Nora Sommer Suspense, Kat Cromwell Mystery, and AJ Bailey Adventure series, as well as multiple collaborations.
Set in the UK and the Grand Caymans, Nick Harvey's Finding Sommer introduces the eponymous MC, Norwegian ex-pat (Nora) Sommer.
Having moved to the Cayman Islands, Nora's stalked and robbed, while cycling in a remote part of the local woods, then confronted by the driver before she returns to the Yacht Club. She tells her (dive-charter boat-owner/housemate), friend AJ Bailey, her fears of a possible connection to the deadly experiences of a year ago, in her homeland. How is Nora's boyfriend Ridley Hernandez lured into a deadly trap? Can the pair escape - will they both make it? What will Nora do next, to move on with her life?
Nicholas Harvey's prequel novella to the Nora Sommer Cayman Islands series, Finding Sommer is a gripping crime-thriller, with a hint of romance and a lot of danger for all concerned. I absolutely recommend this book to fans of the TV series Death in Paradise and Toby Neal and Emily Kimelman's excellent Paradise Crime series, with strong, feisty female lead characters. Go get Finding Sommer as soon as you can - it's a 5-star winner!
How cool that I can now read a spin off series about another strong female lead in the Cayman Islands?!?
My favorite author is back with a new series featuring Miss Nora, a girl with a checkered history trying to change her trajectory in Grand Cayman. Good friend to AJ Bailey (the main character of the other series), this short novella sets things up for Nora. As the reader, we already know about her previous escapades, but now someone is out for her boyfriend…and she gets caught in the middle.
Harvey is known for writing heart pounding scenes and this is no different.
I would think that a short novella like this, is intended to create interest in a story line or a character. If that what Nicholas Harvey was trying to do, it is my opinion that he accomplished his goal. Nora Sommer has real possibilities to be a really intriguing character. Also with Grand Cayman being such a popular stop for the cruise ships the possibilities are unlimited. I look forward to reading #1 in the series.
The cartels seldom quit often send a killer for revenge
Plenty of action and suspense as a professional hit man turns up on the island and threatens Nora and her boyfriend. Excellent characters, an interesting storyline and surprise ending make this novella a good read and well worth the time
New author for me. I really liked the female protagonist. I’m ready for the next book in the series. I’ve travelled all over the Carib and love the setting so I’m expecting a great run with Nicholas.
Now you know. Nora has had a bad run of luck, but what does not kill you makes you stronger. She is a fascinating character. Full of tragedy, but with a strength only her friends see.
Reading this, even out of order, makes so many details fall into place. Don't miss it, you'll be glad you read it. Now I am anxiously awaiting Nicholas Harvey's next Nora Sommer story. I've preordered it and looking forward to th the release date.
This is a shortish prequel to the Nora Sommer series. It introduces the characters and sets the back story, so that in the next book you can get stuck straight in. Very enjoyable.
A short prequel to a series that introduces a young Norweigan girl living in Grand Cayman. We quickly find out she has a very interesting and perhaps violent past. It is through the book that we find out in bits and pieces more about her previous life and how she ended up in Grand Cayman. It was a quick read and a fast paced thriller that kept my interest. i wanted to know everything about her past, but alas, that was not to be the case in this prequel . I also felt there was much more about her past that i was missing, and that bothered me. I found out in the intro to book one of the series that indeed Nora is a character in several books in one of the authors previous series. I suspect if i had read those that i would have known more about her. That notwithstanding, this prequel was enough however to get me hooked into reading more about Nora and her new adventures in the Caribbean. I have a feeling this series will be a good one.
