Betraying the Beast
Vengeance becomes my solace…absolution is earned through love.
The Benoit Family has become synonymous with death. Losing three members in three years has taken its toll, imbedding the root of anger with the first, my grandfather. I could never get his cold, dead eyes out of my head. His death stare has been so prominently burned into my subconscious that I can barely get through a night’s sleep. The loss of someone so close to me bore an anger that only worsened when not only my mother dies the following year, but also the death, well murder, of my father soon after. The accident. The angst of the unknown propelled me into a darkness of solitude and retaliation.

Isabella Ricci, the woman I let get away years before can soon be mine whether she likes it or not. I’m tired of being alone. Being surrounded by death and immoralities of a crime family. Being a mafia prince may have its perks, but the only incentive I need is the girl my grandfather executed a deal for me to marry before his death. I plan to uphold his wishes by any means necessary. Turns out following through can lead me to more truths than I care to find. I just hope she’ll remain by my side as I do what needs to be done.

After her husband was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, she found that writing became a great way to relieve the tension and mounted pressures that come with watching someone she loves suffer from such a harsh diagnosis. It was her husband that pushed her to share her voice, regardless of how erotic that voice would become.

Ms. Johns is a new to me author, and what better way to get to know her writing style than by this interesting Beauty and the Beast re-telling!
Very easy to read in one sitting.
I was not disappointed and enjoyed this slightly dark romance!
Enjoyed both main characters.
I will definitely be checking out other stories by this author!

An exciting and entertaining read. This fairytale retelling has a twist with plenty of suspense along with action. Raja and Isabella have a past with a possible future if they can get through some things first. It's a page turner that'll pulled me in from the beginning. Loved it.

I’ve not heard of this author before and after reading this blurb I was super excited to read this story.
The two main characters are very likeable. A well written story that I really liked. I love retelling of fairytales and this was great.

Betraying the Beast is a twist on one of my favorites! Miss Johns unravels a story of sinful attraction and suspense that will have your pulse racing and will leave you wanting more.
If you’re looking for a thrilling quick and racing hot read, look no further! This book has it all! I give it 5 stars.

Well now, I definitely wasn’t expecting that. This has me thinking I knew what was going on or what happened then Cam threw a curveball and had my jaw on the ground. I’m not usually a fan of authors putting a twist on my favorite movies (bc I’m a huge Disney fan) but Cam did a great job.
I hate to admit this but this is the first book by Cam John’s I’ve read that wasn’t a co-write and I’m now kicking myself. I’ll definitely be reading more by her in the future. 🖤🖤

Wow,what an intriguing way of retelling the story of Beauty and the Beast with a mafia twist. It has suspense, danger, secrets, betrayals and action to keep your heart pounding. But it's the sexual chemistry and pull between Isabella Ricci and Raja Benoit that will keep you turning the page to find out what they will do next. They are perfect balance for each other. Don't miss out on this exciting read.

Betraying The Beast (Once Upon A Heartbreak Collection) puts a contemporary twist on a classic fairytale and I absolutely loved it. The story was unique and highly captivating I couldn't put it down until the very end. Exquisite plot intricately weaved suspense throughout the romance. Chemistry ✔ Crime Family ✔ Danger ✔, Facinating characters ✔ Murder ✔and so much more. One of my favourite retellings.

Betraying the Beast is another short(ish) read in the Once Upon a Heartbreak Collection, and I'm not going to lie, I certainly do wish that it was longer because I LOVED every minute of it. If you didn't guess, it's a modern telling of Beauty and the Beast with a mafia twist. Raja is the head of his crime family now, and he's to marry Isabella despite the fact that she despises him so it's going to be a bumpy ride. There's a lot packed in to keep me on the edge of my seat with my heart pounding since there are some twists, but then there's the HUGE twist that I never saw coming, so it was a cool minute before I picked my mouth off the floor. This is easily read in an afternoon so hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I have been reading Cam Johns’ books since day one…and she just keeps getting better…btw, this novella is a good fairytale re-telling of “Beauty & the Beast”…Raj and Bella have a past and an arranged future…but the Beast really is in love with Bella…and I think, vice versa…it’s a good book…💜🌼
