9/4/2023 - Great book to teach ABCs and geography. Some of the areas I wasn’t familiar with, so I learned something too! The author wrote 3-4 lines of excellently detailed information on each page.

Ohmystars! I am in love with this children’s book! I wish it had been available when my kids were small, but I’ll absolutely be purchasing multiple copies to dole out to my nieces and nephews! A beautiful introduction to places all over the world, sure to spark imagination and conversations. The illustrations are charming and lovely, in that middle world between engaging for young listeners and “old” enough for early readers to still be enchanted.

My copy of “ABC for Me: ABC The World & Me has been sitting out so I could test the boards for warping. Happily, there’s not a warp to be found.
What I do find are bright, colorful illustrations of little folks from all over the world. There are many ethnicities, abilities, body types; it’s great. The alphabet is reinforced by attaching it to a specific location around the world. Some pronunciations are tough, so be prepared. There are a few facts to accompany the location which adds to the educational value. At the end of the book is a world map that plots almost every letter of the alphabet and location. One is missing; can you find it?
All things considered, a fun way to enhance learning the alphabet 📚

This is one of my daughter 2 YO's favorite series and authors. I loved the illustrations throughout and I especially love the wold map with the different cities located on it. This would be perfect for any homeschooling mama or any mom whose kids love geography! The colors and illustrations are great! An amazing addition to the series, Christiane!

Pack your bags and grab your passport. You're about to embark on a fun trip? The closest site to my home in Alaska was the Yukon, so I started there and meandered about the globe taking it all in. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip just as much as a child, the real target audience, might, but did notice a few lovely touches I wanted to mention. Not only are different races showcases, but a wheelchair character keeps popping up. Lovely illustrations, both simple and detailed, if that makes any sense, to give one a feel for what they might encounter at the sites.
The former teacher in me can't help but note that not only do they illustrations provide a nice overview of each site but offer teaching opportunities, too. Those could be as simple as identifying colors used, finding various items in the pictures, or leading a discussion on why the clothing/buildings/structures are not all the same, among others. Art project? Have the children use construction paper to construct the various alphabet letters as they are shown in the photos and let them create their own take on the scenes. I'm sure you can come up with many other ideas. Although the text given might be more advanced than the child it is used for, it seemed easily adaptable to age. For now, I'm going back for a return visit. Yes, this big kid was enchanted by this book. I'd recommend it to parents and teachers everywhere, not to mention it'd make a wonderful gift for "big kids" who want to travel without leaving their homes. There's even a nice map at the end.
Thank you #NetGalley and #QuartoPublishingGroup – #WalterFoster for inviting me along on this fun, and, oh, so enchanting journey. It made my day.

This lovely board book takes you all around the world! I think I learned more than my kids while reading this. My 3 year-old is interested in maps so her favorite page was at the end where we got to look at where in the world all the different ABC locations were.
This is a bit more "advanced" than your average book. Each page has a short paragraph of text, which sometimes I needed to abbreviate a little bit to keep my child's attention. For kids younger than three, you will mainly just be looking at the pictures, which are wonderful and bright. I noticed and appreciated the effort to make the characters in the images inclusive. We will absolutely be checking out more books in this series!
Thank you to Christiane Engel, Quarto, and Edelweiss for access to this free e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is so cool! I can't wait to read this with students. Young readers can explore the world and get a little alphabet practice along the way. Each letter is used to introduce a different place across the globe. A short description is included with memorable details about each site. The distribution is well-balanced--it's not overly focused on Europe or North America.
The art is a special treat too! Each page is full of stunningly vivid and detailed images that kids will love to pore over. This would be a great classroom read but I could also see it becoming an oft-repeated favorite at home.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

This is a really fun and thoughtful introduction to the diversity and wonders of our world for very young children. Each letter of the alphabet is given a location across the world (and thankfully all continents are pretty evenly represented). This provides a nice balance of cities and natural wonders, and a world full of life and a range of people. It's beautiful to behold. The narrative is nice, highlighting each location in just a few brief sentences. Children who are into geography, nature, and culture will adore this!

This is a really fantastic book for children, which is all about different places around the world. The book has beautiful, bright and colourful graphics that all children will love. Each graphic has a letter of the alphabet beside it and a sentence, each describing a place in the world. I found it really interesting to learn about all the different places, such as Baku, the Grand Canyon, the Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal. I highly recommend this book, which is full of awesome, educational and informational knowledge. My daughter and I loved it!

Fully global, fully inclusive, this pictorial A-Z covers every corner of the globe and every diversity of person possible in its illustrations, to give an alphabet revision with extra geography lesson. The question might be 'is it too early to get them knowing about Chichen Itza?' - but why not? This hardly covers human sacrifice, or anything, so from Baku to Xi'an it's bordering on the irrelevant, yet is still useful to have and for young explorers to know. Heck, I've only been to seven of these 26 – perhaps this would have inspired me further?
