Showdown at the Broccoli Corral

Rate this book
In a time of zombies, drop bears and mad people growing brassicas in the sweltering tropical heat.
In a place where one woman's sense of justice will truly piss off her telepathic mutant cat.

A hunt for some good aged cheddar turns into the fight of Sarina's life as she and her giant feline Sook stumble on a small Western town, in the middle of the Australian Jungle. Drawn into the town's struggle against an oppressive overlord that's starving and killing the town to feed his own obsessions, Sare and Sook are thrown into the deep end and battle deal both the living and the undead.

Will she save the oppressed masses from the crazed Boss and his goons?
Will Sook ever forgive her for seeking out company that isn't his own?
An exciting YA novel set in the early days of the post-apocalypse.

Born near the Swiss border in the early 80s Anja survived poodle perms, fluoro balloon skirts and a prolonged flight to settle with her family in the dangerous land of Australia, where you certainly need to check for spiders under you pillow. Every. Single. Night.

Insert many years of tedious study and work in engineering and physics we get to Anja's return to a childhood passion. Writing. (In addition to keeping her mini permaculture forrest in Bacchus Marsh thriving of course.)

Thanks to the massive Melbourne lockdowns Anja finally knuckled down and finished all those writing projects and started some new ones.

If you like weird, funny, odd fiction. Anja is the source of literary madness for you!

Writing this book was tough, after almost finishing the first draft the inspiration for Sook (feline character) passed away and I laid him to rest in my backyard.

I think I still captured the essence of the Sook-Sare relationship and the story is a weird spin on the old samurai movies I used to watch.

The beta readers enjoyed the book , but I have very little feedback apart from "its great".

For anyone that read this - please leave a review, please let me know what you liked and especially what you DIDN'T like, it will help me write better books in the future.

And who knows, if people love Sarina and Sook there might be another book featuring them (apart of course from the original Post Apocalyotic Memoirs of ....) where they do feature as well
