This necromancy dating service is dead on arrival… Her career depends upon whether she can revive it or not. Celeste never anticipated she’d get her dream job at HarmonE, an online meet-up company for niche interests. Someone in her interview made assumptions about what she’s capable of, and she got the big promotion, alright… Now she’s the brand-new system administrator for the company’s most underperforming niche on the web... the necROMANCE server. Yes, it’s a dating site for necromancers. It’s a corpse of a project no one wants to touch. If she succeeds, she’ll be project manager over her own department. If she can’t breathe new life into the server, she can kiss her new career goodbye.
While it may take a minute to orient yourself in the world, once you have, the story is an adventure! Celeste is a relatable character and I enjoyed her interactions.
A far cry from the necromancer stories you’ve probably read before (they don’t always have to be the bad guy, you know), Necromancer’s Dating Service is a good start to the Magis Luminare series. It had a solid ending, but also a great lead in to the next novel.
Also, kudos for a well written prophecy!
If you enjoy the Dresden Files, possibly Anita Blake (the first few books), and other urban fantasies, you’ll enjoy this one as well!
Reading this book you enter into a world of magic, intrigue, and adventure. The author takes you on a journey of someone who has tried to escape the pain of losing much, and finds herself through her new task at work. What an incredible story…can’t wait for more in the series!
