Summer at Salem Bridge Academy is looking to be anything but a break, but it will certainly be hot!
It's looking like my old professor, the one who wanted to kill me and keep witches from ever returning, wasn't alone. He's got a whole secret society of wizards who want to make me go away, and they'll destroy my lovers, the academy, and everything I hold dear in the process.
That is, if I don't stop them first. It's time to go on a field trip to France and take the fight to them!
And, as an added bonus, France is supposed to be the country of love, right?
Wonder, dragons, fae, fantasy, and romance, these are the things Melody Rose loves to write about. If these are the things you love, please think about following me on Amazon or on Facebook.
Besides the issue I have with this series, I like this book the best, so far!
*Claps* IN-CON-SIS-TENC-Y! *Claps*
As I said in the last review, I'll say it again here - THIS one may be my new favourite. Each story seems to get better and better!
The things that don't improve? THE CONSISTENCY. Small things, usually, but still things, tiny things, that should still be obvious enough to not mess up. On one page, Amber is sleeping between two guys, Guy A and Guy B. The next page? She gets up and is thankful she didn't wake them up, Guy B and Guy C. It was LITERALLY a few pages ago. You couldn't have just double-checked who you paired her with? I'm a little OCD, so seriously, stuff like this really bugs me. Another thing that hasn't improved MUCH (but maybe has a bit) is spelling. Just missing letters or whatever here and there. It seems better than the last couple of books, but I think this one is a bit shorter? Either way, it hasn't bugged me as much this book, but I wish these errors were caught before publishing.
Besides that, the story is fantastic! I love how, throughout her books, her harem is slowly increasing, versus other books where a lot of them all meet up at once. It's neat!
I have to say I have been enjoying the plots of this series immensely. The feats of magic, the big bad, seeing Amber’s growth as a mage, all of that is fantastic!
The part that is abysmal is the romance. There is zero effort put into Amber’s relationships with her guys or even with her friends. There’s never any mention of her men having issues about not being informed when there is a new man and they all seem to get along with one another as friends and as part of Amber’s group that includes her non-romantic friends. The steamy scenes are rather trite so I basically skip them to get back to the meat of the story.
If you like the blurb, you’ll probably like the book. So I’d recommend it for the story.
I'm gonna be honest, as much as I love this book series it was the tiny inconsistencies that led me to give this book a lower rating. In book 1, it said she was the only female mage in like 400 years, then it randomly shifted to two hundred years later and stayed that way. Another big inconsistency was the appearance of the FMC. Based on the cover, she is white, but in the book, it discusses that her adoptive family is white, and she had never lived with another person of color before Eli. Other than that, the storyline is great. 7/10 would recommend it is a good read if you don't hyperfixate on certain details.

I really enjoyed the premise of this book. The fight scenes were well done and the new magic was very interesting. I found some spots slower than others but I love seeing Amber figure out how to control her power. I really enjoyed the scenes with her and Cesar. I thought they were very sweet compared to how quickly she got together with the others. The one thing I hated was the stupid fade to black at the end of the book. I was waiting for those 2 to get to get together since the beginning and that just infuriated me. Lol.
Yet another fantastic book for this series. This was actioned packed, stalkers, death threats, relationships, learning new magic and lots of battles. It’s written with such detail you just fall into the story, I honestly couldn’t put it down. Overall a fantastic read, I’ve already downloaded the rest of this series and can’t wait to get stuck in
Double WOW ! Book 3 of MAKINGS OF A WITCH SERIES🇨🇦
Amber and her Academy family members are on adventure. Melody 🌹Rose 🌹 is getting excellent with each book of the Makings of a Witch series. I would like to know where Samson goes when he is not with Amber.
I don’t usually leave a review before finishing a series but this book is worth the effort lol. I absolutely love the MC and her men. This is one of those books that makes me proud to be a woman!
I’m so glad it ended the way it did! Loved all of it. I loved the little tricks she had. The guys all loved her. It was an amazing book. Samson was my favourite though. Who wouldn’t want a familiar that was a full grown tiger?
