Barrie, who wrote Peter Pan, gave the copyright and all royalties for the book and play to the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, so that Peter Pan could always look after sick kids.In 1988 Prime Minister Lord Callaghan petitioned Parliament to make the Peter Pan copyright perpetual; you see, all copyrights expire 70 years after the death of the creator in that country. Parliament passed it, and Peter Pan became the copyright that wouldn't grow up, at least in the U.K., and the hospital kept the benefits which contribute to a major part of their funding.This story is about a little girl who's quite ill, and lives in an “unnamed” children's hospital in London. In keeping true to Mr. Barrie, it's only good form that a portion of the royalties from every sale of The Neverland Girl will go to the Great Ormond Street Hospital in the U.K., and to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in the states, so that Peter Pan will continue to take care of little ones who are very sick, as Mr. Barrie intended. I have never experienced a story such as this one. It was great. Dash Hoffman made me feel every single emotion possible. I love the story of Peter Pan. Think it's time I revisit the story myself.

I’ll try to say it without spoilers, but this book is unbelievably well written! The story was hard to predict, which I think takes quite a lot of talent from the writer, and keeps the reader on edge wondering “what will be next?” The Neverland Girl takes you to a world of magic, but it does not shy away from harsh realities, and to be willing to blend the two together from the perspective of both child and adult alike is admirable and beautiful. The story may be about a little girl and Peter Pan, but it would be foolish to say it was meant only for children. This book brought out my own inner child, and any adult stuck in the mundane aught to read it themselves and re-spark their own childish wonder.

Just finished this book and it was wonderful! If you're interested in a good story filled with hope, love and magic, this is the one for you! Loved it!
