Working Stiffs Mystery #8
A Kiwi Before Dying
It’s Mother’s Day, the perfect occasion for Deputy Coroner Charmaine Digby to take her grandmother to brunch at her favorite tea house. At least it seems perfect until the woman who lives next door discovers the bloody body of her husband. And the prime suspect is the woman’s ex-husband, the surly guy Char witnessed skulking around the property minutes earlier!
As a witness, Char can’t “officially” participate in the murder investigation. But with so many unanswered questions surrounding the suspect, his ex-wife, and the victim, Char can’t just sit on the sidelines, not when there’s a psychic neighbor to help her sleuth out the truth!
If you enjoy small town life, quirky characters of all ages, and a splash of romance, you’ll love A Kiwi Before Dying. Grab this fun cozy today and start reading!

Wendy Delaney, you nailed it again! The ending came too soon… didn’t want it to end. . The writing is smooth and fast paced.
Keep on keeping on , Wendy!

SPOILERS
Finished the series after taking several weeks off. I would recommend it if you want cutie characters, ZERO F bombs (my favorite part), and for a small quirky town, a lot of murders. One would think Char would have gotten a promotion by now. Always being in the right place at the right moment.

A KIWI BEFORE DYING by Wendy Delaney is book 8 in the Working Stiffs mystery series.
Charmaine (Char) Digby is a human lie detector—she can tell if someone is lying or telling the truth by reading their body language. She works for the district attorney's office where they put her skills to work, but this time she's using those skills to solve the murder of Trevor Constantine.
As Char works to solve her latest murder mystery, she has help from her grandmother, great-aunt Alice, and Lucille, a waitress and local busybody. She also has her hunky boyfriend, Steve Sixkiller, a detective, working to keep her out of trouble.
A KIWI BEFORE DYING kept me turning the page. If you love cozy mysteries, the Working Stiff Mystery Series has mystery, humor, and a touch of romance to keep you up late at night reading.

The adventure continues
Char just can’t stay out of the thick of things…and is surprised by her psychic reading. Another puzzling adventure for the patrons of Duke’s diner, with an ending I didn’t expect!
You’re gonna love it.

I absolutely love this series! It’s funny and lighthearted while still delivering some top notch mystery stories. A bit of a switch in this case in that Charmaine is a witness to the crime instead of her becoming involved after it takes place. I love the small town vibes where everyone knows everyone else’s business almost as it’s happening. Duke’s cafe is still the place to be to get all the “news”. No spoilers but what a wonderful ending!!!

This is a very enjoyable series to read! The characters are all growing and changing, and the mysteries are definitely getting more difficult to solve. I hope the town is big enough for a few more murderers because I'm not ready to give up the series quite yet.
