After casually opening to browse this book, I found myself reading it cover-to-cover on the spot!
This is a book for adults and children - fascinating stories about ships that bore cargo and passengers across Lake Superior, courageous rescues and some profound losses. We view these historical episodes through the eyes of young people and with the help of a magical device that transports us under the waves to experience the shipwrecks in their resting places.

Filled with historical facts, images and maps, this is a book for anyone wanting to peer into the deep and find sunken history. I can't wait to read the other Sunken books by Kathy Groth.

SUNKEN is an excellent, engaging introduction to Shipwrecks in Lake Superior, geared to young readers. With Bri and Chase as guides, the reader learn about the heroes, the weather, those lost and ships that were simply never seen again. There is nothing else like it out there for kids with a budding interest.

Wow, is this book fun! Anyone who geeks out about the Great Lakes and shipwrecks needs this book. Although written for kids (elementary age), adults have been singing their praises for this book, too. Excellent photos - provided by Great Lakes divers - bring the wrecks to life. And the best news? Sunken Lake Michigan is available now, too! Enjoy.

Lighthearted look at some of the shipwrecks on Lake Superior. We follow the son of a diver as he meets a friend at a museum with a magical map. Groth has carefully documented types of ships that were lost in the Big Lake. lots of actual diving photos are included.
