Advanced science in genetic engineering has made modern humanity more dangerous than ever. Even the Jayus Galactic Empire cannot stop their military might. The aliens endured conquest for hundreds of years. Yet even humans tire of war and so have allowed the galaxy to enjoy a time of peace and their own colonies to grow and prosper. But behind the veil of peace one ambitious general takes action to extend the reach of her power. The capital is meant to rule their galactic republic yet everyone knows real power rests with the fleet and it’s five generals. It is perhaps military blunder or ill advised fantasy when the capital’s more creative leaders place faith in a discarded war hero for the planet’s resistance.

Great read
