Another excellent book in the Waffles series! Well done!
First impression: I love the vibrant colours! This goes for all of these dynamic and beautifully illustrated books.
Second impression: A simple story with deep lessons. 1) Even with the simplest of tasks, we are all role models and someone appreciates us; 2) It’s important to seek the tools to succeed and persevere until the goal is achieved.
Waffles wants to learn how to crow like the rooster. He practices and practices but finds out that, even with practice, he just can’t crow. He goes to his mom who suggests he gets some help. He then goes to the rooster who helps him crow. Practice is good, but sometimes you need extra help.
Waffles, my favorite chicken in my hen house, is learning how to crow like no other rooster 🐓 has ever learned before. The illustrations are superb as they always are in this series by Ken Matthews. The story is fun and can be interactive if you crow like Waffles. Be ready, one, two...You don't know the words? Maybe Waffles knows. While your kiddo looks for the five butterflies in the book he or she can learn to crow with Waffles. Fun, fun, Cock-a -.... Kiddos will find the rest of the word while reading. Good luck and happy crowing! 🐓
Waffles (Chicken) learned to Crow. He let loose and woke all the animals and humans up. Mouse, Horse, & Racoon didn’t think Waffles had the crowing sound down right.

An awesome book cover, great hand-drawn colored pictures, charming illustrations & proper font & writing style. A very professionally written children’s (preschool/elementary age) Chicken storybook. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters, settings, etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s Chicken movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini-TV series. It was just OK for me so I will only rate it at 4/5 stars.
