Incoherent Thoughts, Wonderings and Poems by C.S. Fritz. Designed, formatted and published by Albatross Design Co. This 97-page book is thoughtfully designed, measures 4.5x5
Casey "C.S." Fritz grew up on a farm in Oregon, where he milked cows and had a pet pig. To escape the endless chores of cleaning chicken coops and watering tomatoes...Casey would draw.
As a young child, Casey's family moved to Arizona. It was there beneath the fiery gaze of the Southwestern sun, that he spent most of his life. Graduating school, marrying the love of his life and having two wild kids. It was also there that C.S. Fritz's work began to take traction with local galleries and art publications.
C.S. Fritz now is an award-winning author and illustrator with published children's titles as... The Cottonmouth Trilogy, Good Night Tales, The Moonman Cometh, Seekers, and Good Night Classics!
Fritz's debut novel, A Fig For All The Devils released Halloween, 2021. Fig won best in horror with the IBPA's and is now in the works to be a major motion picture.
Other horror works by Fritz are, All Creatures Living Beneath The Sun, and Cabbage.
Moth is dainty collection of poems that packs a punch. It gives you a glimpse into the mind of someone who holds their values and beliefs close to their heart while keeping certain rituals of traditional religion at arm's length. So many of these made me wince in the best way.
As someone who grew up in The Church and attended private school, there's been a shift in my understanding of God and the Bible in my adult life. Especially in the last 3.5 years. Reading some of these felt cathartic.
Looking forward to reading more from Casey in the future.
A truly beautiful and original little masterpiece that contains short, but powerful poems and one-liner thoughts that will strike a nerve, for me at least, that lives awfully close to home. Simplistic, but impactful in both the words and graphics it contains. I’ve never met such incoherent thoughts that come together and make so much sense. It’s definitive proof that indie authors are severely underrated.
A Fig for all the Devils has been sitting on my TBR since I saw the cover but, it continually is pushed back down the list and now I'm rethinking that. I so enjoyed this little book, Moth by C.S.Fritz. It was the size of a moth and I carried it in my purse to fawn over the art and reread the words.
As always, and it is a personal bias, the religious meditations were lost on me for they tasted recycled. Not that Fritz was unoriginal in his delivery but, the sentiment.
I did enjoy this little Moth and look forward to diving into his bestseller, A Fig for all the Devils.
I wish the world was blessed with more little works of visual and written beauty. It's like carrying a little mood board in your pocket.
