Hello! I am a single mother who moved from NorCal to sunny SoCal in 2013 with my wonderful son. I formerly worked as a government employee until 2018 when I decided to be self-employed to have the flexibility of taking care of my son and achieving my dreams. I am super goal-oriented and I believe in the power of prayer. God has guided my steps since fully accepting Him in my heart in 2010. I strongly believe the best is yet to come if you have faith and hope. Dare to follow your dreams and believe in yourself!
I enjoy spending time with friends when I can and taking long walks on the weekend. Movie watching is a big deal at home. Huge Marvel and football fan. Go Chiefs!!
I love how the author captured fifty scripture verses that speak to a new Christian's daily life, but anyone can read and use this book for their daily walk with Christ. Her devotionals capture the essence of each scripture and are very personable and often can apply to one's walk. Her reflections remind me of Sheila Walsh's devotionals, so anyone who is a fan of Sheila's needs to check this out. I wish I had this book forty years ago when I was a young, baby Christian, very much alone, without a mentor, or someone to go to and talk with. The book allows for lots of journaling and reflection. As someone who loves to journal, this hits the mark. Thank you Shauntae.
"Now What?!: 50 Easy Scriptures on Beginning and Maintaining a Life in Christ" is an amazing devotional well apt for young believers to aid their walk with God. The mature believer will also find this devotional helpful as it x-rays vital issues in our walk with God that we shouldn't neglect (such topics include: Only His Voice matter, A Cup of Patience, Continue to Press on, Don't Let Money Rule You, Staying in prayer). It contains 50 Easy scriptures with a brief exposition with a personal touch. It is easy to read, small to digest, and has some journaling lines. I highly recommend this devotional.
I received this book for an honest review. Biblical verses with practical life applications that are very relevant and engaging. This devotional is a great way to get inspired to dig deeper in scripture. The book is written in such a way that you must ask the hard questions about your spiritual walk. Thank you Shauntae for an excellent devotional!
What a wonderful devotional! It is stated in the introduction that this gives the new Believer some direction as to where to start in their study and life application of the Bible. It is definitely a wonderful source for that, but also for the church going person who may have a lot of "head knowledge" that they've had trouble translating into practice in their daily life.
It is a friendly, welcoming format and design with bite-sized pieces each day so that application is not overwhelming or daunting. She gives practical ways to bring the scripture to life every day.
This is not a philosophical treatise, but a boots-on-the-ground daily devotional. I found myself feeling as though I had spent time with a lovely friend as I read each day's devotion. There is space for your thoughts and how you may apply the scripture as well as an area to write a prayer each day. You could spend anywhere from a couple of minutes to however long your heart desires on each day's verse.
I recommend it! Thank you Shauntae Spaulding. Well done!
Looking for something different for your quiet time? Consider this book. Short devotionals with some journaling prompts. Short and easy to read, but rich in the meaning of Scripture. Highly recommend.
