Wow those characters are a mouthful, but I love each one of them. Your child has a surprise in store for them when you read this precious book to them. I bet you won’t read it just once! I love the story as well and there’s even a bit if a mystery to it. It’s all so much fun.
I fell in love with the sweet characters in this book created by Illustrator Emily Hercock. The front cover is beautiful and will have children grabbing this book from the shelf first. The colors and so pretty, and the words on the pages and the pictures created work together so perfectly. This beautiful book would be great for your little girl’s library or it would be perfect for any younger children’s classrooms, or in daycare. I highly recommend this one and give it a Five Stars!

The Bobos Babes is a cute and fun book. I know that my five year old niece will really enjoy it. It has a fun story with a good gang of characters. There is even a short lesson inserted in this story. The illustrations are great. They colors really bright. I like that the sentences were not too long or that large words were used. This way my niece can read the book pretty much on her own and stay focused on the story.
The Bobos Babes is comprised of Princess Daphne, who has the ability to see the best i every situation, Cora, the fairy with enchanted hearing and extraordinary speed, and Angel Scarlett, who has a heavenly touch that can grow an entire garden.
The Bobos Babes help Russell the Swan find one of his missing eggs. The lesson in the story is that did you know a baby swan is called a cygnet.
Bobos Babes Adventures: The Missing Egg is an entertaining adventure story for children. The three Bobos sisters, Scarlett (the angel) Cora (the fairy) and Daphne (the princess) help Russell the Swan when he discovers one of the eggs he was babysitting while his wife went to bathe is missing!
The story is told with lots of dialogue and humor, and the delightful illustrations are adorable. The glossy hardcover is colorful, and the sturdy pages are loaded with fun animal illustrations.
Bobos Babes Adventures: The Missing Egg is the newest installment to Karen M Bobos’ Bobos Babes Adventures series. It definitely will not be the last. I love the sisters, Angel Scarlett, Princess Daphne and Fairy Cora. It was fun and entertaining being taken to the wonderful place of Harmony. The story is magical and teaches a lesson that we all – young or old – could learn from. I love how the sisters were quickly able to go into action to help their friend when they needed them the most. It shows their kindness and sweet heart.

Bobos Babes Adventures: The Missing Egg by Karen M. Bobos was an adventurous tale highlighting the goodness in people. Three sisters, all living in a land called Harmony, were known for their good deeds. Angel Scarlett, Princess Daphne, and Cora (the fairy) used their magical powers to spread joy and help those residing in their charmingly named land.
In this tale, the Bobos Babes banded together to help a swan find his missing unhatched baby. During their search for the bundle of joy, we meet three of swan’s buddies.
Young readers will love all the animals and the sweet sisters. For the animal friends, Emily Hercock (illustrator) gave all of them a distinct personality. For me, I loved sunglass-wearing Armando, the armadillo.
As for the three sisters, their dresses were not all pink, and this will please young kids who don’t fancy the color pink—like my daughter.
On a side note, I loved the “Did you know” bubble in the story. I did not know the fun fact. (no spoilers) 🙂
The Bobos Babes are three little sisters: Princess Daphne, Cora the fairy, and Scarlett the angel. Each one has a special power. Daphne can see the best in everything. Cora has enchanted hearing and extraordinary speed. Scarlett can grow an entire garden from a single seed. In this story the three sisters come upon a father swan, who was very distressed. He has left his nest for just a few moments to eat chocolate cake that some friends “the boys” brought him. While he was doing thi,s one of the eggs he was watching disappeared. He was afraid that his wife was going to “kick his ……” (caution: this is a quote from the book).
The sisters told him that they would help him find the missing egg. Then, the friends came back carrying the cake. The father swan told them to go, because he had to find his missing egg. They said, look here, your egg has hatched and is eating chocolate cake. When the father looked, he was happy to see his new baby swan. This is a brightly illustrated book that children will enjoy having read to them.
The Missing Egg was my introduction to the world of Bobos Babes Adventures. A fun-filled land called Harmony is where Fairy Cora, Princess Daphne, and Angel Scarlett reside. They love to help out their friends and, along the way, bring joy to everyone.
Emily Hercock has brought the world of Harmony to life with her vibrant, colorful illustrations.
The story is entertaining and easy to read. Children will enjoy the tale of Russell the Swan, who mistakenly lost one of the eggs from his nest. Even adults will get a kick out of poor Russell, who was only tempted to leave the nest for a moment when "The Boys" tempted him with chocolate cake. Who hasn't been there?
There is no real drama or trauma as the reader can see the little cygnet all along.
This delightful hardcover book should be in every library as children will beg to read it over and over.
I received a copy of the book from the author for an iRead Book Tour. This is my honest, unbiased opinion.
Russel the Swan has lost an egg from the nest. He calls on the Bobos Babes for help. The Bobos Babes are three sisters who love helping others. There's Scarlet - the angel, Cora - the fairy and Daphne - the princess. Each sister has special powers. Can they help Russell find the egg before his wife comes back? There's chocolate cake involved!!
This book is incredibly witty. Told in rhyming verse and gorgeous illustrations - this is definitely a keeper. Angels, Princesses and Fairies... Oh my!! There is adult humor throughout the book which had me laughing out loud. I loved watching the story unfold. This is a book that every child will really enjoy. I can't wait to see the Bobos Babes next adventure!!
I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.
Bobos Babes are a princess, an angel, and a fairy who use their magical powers to help those in need. When they came across Russell the Swan, they knew that there was something troubling him. He lost one of the eggs he was supposed to be sitting on! I got tickled, and I know kids will too, when Russell kept going on about the lost egg and he didn’t realize that his baby was right there.
The Missing Egg isn’t only funny but it teaches that a baby swan is called a cygnet. It’s told in rhyme and it has adorable illustrations with vibrant colors. This is definitely a good book to read to the children in your life over and over.
This book is adorable. Are you tempted by chocolate cake? Russell the Swan certainly is – and it could get him in trouble with his wife. You see, he was supposed to watch their eggs while his wife took a break. But his friends came by with chocolate cake. Russell just could not resist. He stepped away for just a short time to have his cake, but when he came back one egg was missing. Oh no! Bobos Babes notice his dilemma and try to help. Will the egg be found - and before his wife gets back? Furthermore, Russell is not the only one tempted by the cake.
The illustrations are colorful and just so much fun to explore. I highly recommend this book.
