When a local farming company becomes a guinea pig for a newly tested fertiliser, no one knew it was capable of bringing the dead back to life. But it did, and it brought the town of Clifton Falls to its knees. No one thought it was real until police officers were called to a domestic, seeing for themselves a grotesque beast that was meant to be buried. Now, the local hospital was piling up with the dead, with some returning to life to attack the living. None of the officers had signed up for this, to fight the Undead, but they needed to control the virus. But can they stop it from spreading before it reaches the CEMETERY!!
Packed with extreme horror moments and traces of humour, and with characters that remind you of people you know, this story will take your imagination on a ride to the town of Clifton Falls, where you will want to save the residents from a new enemy that wants to eat them.
Lee Andrew Taylor was born in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, in 1969, moving to Bedworth, Warwickshire at the age of 9. All his life he's had a passion for creating things, whether it was new games to play with family and friends, drawing, or creating a story.
Lee has written a killer rats story - The S.T.A.R.S. Project (scientific testing aimed at a rats survival) - He was inspired by James Herbert's killer rodent stories growing up, so decided to write his own version.
Lee has also written - BEDBUGS (Can you see them?) - A story based on his childhood fear of the old saying - Night, night, sleep tight & don't let the bedbugs bite - Where he thought the bedbugs were really going to bite him in the middle of the night - the only difference between Lee's Bedbugs and real ones, is his EAT PEOPLE!!
Lee has also written 4 novels set in a world where the living dead exist. CLIFTON FALLS has received some wonderful reviews recently, with readers saying every book is better than the last, so Lee is going to release all 4 books as 1 large book in the coming months.
When not on KU, Lee's novels can be found in eBook format, being sold from the likes of Apple Books, Smashwords, & Kobo -
Lee also writes movie scripts, with the likes of Elijah Wood's & Joe Dante's production companies' asking to read them. He's spoken to the director of the Sharknado movies on Skype about his Bedbugs idea and in 2019 wrote a sci-fi, horror TV pilot for a production company in the UK.
To date - Novels - CLIFTON FALLS - Parts 1, 2, 3, & 4 / BEDBUGS (Can you see them?) / The S.T.A.R.S Project

This was a fun read from the very start. From the very start of this book it is full of surprises. Once the zombies sold, there’s lots of action and character growth that that makes it easy to read and hard to put down.
Winter story book I shot it so fast. Zombie books don’t always hit for me, but this one definitely did.
what’s so believable about this series is that it’s the perfect mix of comedy, horror and disbelief. because how many of us WOULD believe in today’s conspiracy-mad world that there was an actual fertilizer-induced zombie apocalypse taking place? and poor Bruno! the thinking on Vincent, his wife and late-turned-current mother is that she quite literally becomes the mother-in-law from hell. and when confronted by the possibility that his company’s fertilizer is responsible for the creation of the zombies, Blake’s kinda like, “ya think?”
Really enjoyed this book. Great character, very well developed and relatable, felt like real people. Amazing zombies, love when they are more that mindless. Overall, great read!
Yet again, Lee creates a great story, I loved the way this story takes it's twists and turns. I definitely think the story was done great justice by being made into an audiobook. Andy showed a lot of enthusiasm in his reading of Clifton Falls. Like Stars Project, it was like walking into a movie world, the characters are believable, and as I listened, I could visualise them. The details he goes into with each chapter shows, even more, the depths of his love for the characters; he put a lot of care into the story. He really does make you hate some characters, for me it has to be Chris he was swarmy bugger just a disrespectful little sod. It's not just zombies popping up everywhere run for your lives. From the bank robbers to the victims of the horrors he bestows upon them. He went all out, and I loved that instead of your zombies randomly rising from the dead. You got a bit of a realistic notion with the experimental fertiliser that causes this infection and the gradual shitstorm that follows and tears through the town. I mean Blake is such a likeable character he agrees to use the fertiliser because he just wants to do better by his business. Instead, he ends up causing an outbreak of killer dead people so yeah, there's that. But he does pull through and unlike most people who would bury their heads in the sand. He tries to do the right thing, and help the police get to the bottom of the situation before it escalates. I loved the humour mixed in that is woven through the story as well. I mean, seriously, it had me in stitches in parts, although I do worry as my sense of humour can be messed up sometimes. I also love the realistic relationship between Karen and Blake and how supportive his wife is through everything, you do not see love like that these days. The bond between Jason and Wayne was also one I enjoyed and really broke my heart to see how the story progress. Mike has to be my favourite, the chief seems to be the only one willing to investigate and push to get answers. Just a good cop who wants to help people rather than brush the situation under the rug. Have to admit I enjoyed Mike giving the arrogant scientist a hard time. Every twist, turn, and death takes you on a journey that involves atmosphere and suspense. A marriage horror and science is gripping and heartbreaking to see the affects of the situation. The ending was horrible but leaves the whole thing on a cliffhanger, which left me swearing and wanting more. Hey, I may be a little bypass, but I enjoy Lee's work, and I think you will too.
This was a really enjoyable novel that has a lot to like about it. One of the better elements of this one is the strong central setup involving the creation of the zombie horde and the effect it has on the town. The experiment to create the new fertilizer product in the middle of a series of extracurricular activities in the rest of the community, with bank robbers trying to get to safety and the other random citizens that are caught up in the outbreak, creates an intriguing storyline with just enough to get an idea on the kinds of characters presented here so that the later horror and injections of comedy come off nicely. They're all fun enough to follow, so the strong action scenes here make for a fun enough time to keep this one going.
On top of that, the series of zombie efforts here is impressive, managing to get a lot right here. The setup is quite simple and gets quite enjoyable with the idea of the fertilizer product coming into place as a regeneration piece for the zombies and getting the infected couple as a way to spread it throughout the rest of the town. This brings out the rapidly spreading outbreak and how these defined characters come about, trying to stop the creatures with a solid series of encounters that offer up some great gore-filled encounters and descriptive imagery that help create a thrilling atmosphere. It does end on a cliffhanger, considering its placement in the series as book one, so the story is abrupt in terms of being read as a standalone effort, but it's not a huge factor, all that much.
I really enjoyed this book, which was my first by this author. I love all things horror but have never been bitten by the zombie thing...until now. I really liked some of the scenarios with the zombies seeming to be more than just mindless shuffling things that I have seen on TV.
There is plenty of tension and some nice gory scenes (which is what I like in a horror book) When the dead start coming back, the mayhem begins, and blood sploshes about here, there and everywhere.
I have to admit that I do not write reviews as often as I should. However, I have just finished book 1 and felt compelled to do so as I begin book 2.
Great read. Characters you can identify with. Really enjoyed the book, and a welcome change from my norm. Good build up to the story, so it's not blood and gore from word go. Thus making it more believable somehow. Would recommend, and I look forward to part two. Loved it.
This is an exciting first book of this four book series ! After the first bit the action, excitement, blood and guts really comes out !!! Highly recommend this author ! He brings the zombies to life !!! 😂😂😂😎
