To be honest, the case didn’t really grab me with this one as it had with the other books. But the personal interactions between the characters did. Always a highlight with these stories.
Detective Casey Clement has a lot to deal with: Her budding relationship with photographer Jamie Carval; her father’s chronic alcoholism; and nasty rumors being spread by a disgruntled detective from another precinct. The case brings FBI profiler Renfrew back into the mix, which is always fun. His presence always unnerves the squad, and stirs the pot. Looming over it all is the impending exhibition show of Carval’s photos.
I really enjoyed the interplay between the team: Casey, O’Leary (a favorite), Tyler, and Andy. And Carval. Allan has more to do, too. Meanwhile, Casey and Carval are stumbling into an actual solid relationship and it seems to surprise both of them. By the end, I was left wanting more (which is a good thing). I’m eager to see where this series takes the characters next.
Compelling characters, with a little romance on the side, and a dash of whodunnit, makes for a fun read.

A Great Read
Enjoyed the book, it was fast paced, humorous, with enough action to keep you reading. Main problem with me is Casey, talks a good game but is just a little bit too vulnerable and not trusting with those who care including her father. I find myself comparing her to J.D. Robb's character Eve Dallas and find her to be a weak immigration of Dallas, and both series' titles have death in them. It would have been better if Casey's stories and life were her own and not a imitation of Eve Dallas. But because I like women characters who are G's, I like the series just has to think of Casey as Dallas little sister following in her footsteps.

Death in frenzy is the 4th book in the series and so so good
I loved that's the best thing to happen in book series I said what I said
and the team dynamic has always been great but I feel like it keeps getting better so that's great
absolutely here for no relationship drama between casey and carval as they finally accepted that they are in a relationship even if neither of them wants to think about it in those terms. haha
but that was very nice and all I want. the relationship to be the cure for trouble not the cause
as much as I hate marcol I love that plot too and am very excited to read about how that works into the real exhibition whenever book 5 comes out

I'd give this 4 1/2 stars if that was an option. The world of Casey and Carval is still interesting, surprising and amusing. The 4th book is not quite as good as the 3rd one, but still a wonderful read. The cases are topical and well written. I'd comment more about the murder, but I don't want to spoil anything.

The plot line, that flows through all of the books, continues with Carval adapting to the ways of the team. He learns how to support Casey in ways that fit her personality. The murder and it's associated crimes lead to the FBI's arrival. I'm even starting to warm up to Renfrew. The new characters of Carina and Mario are my new favorites in this book. The way Carina mothers Jamie is fun.
